At around 10:23 AM, I stumbled into Cathy’s Bar and Restaurant by the beachfront, hoping a good meal could rescue me. I ordered a strong cup of coffee, a hot bowl of Chicken Tinola, and two cups of rice (plus a banana for good measure) — all for ₱330. The beach was eerily quiet, the waves louder than ever, and the atmosphere calm despite the storm. 🌧️

Back in my room, I tried to sleep off the misery… but by 11:30 AM, I gave up. So I slipped on my sandals and wandered along the shoreline. The beach, usually buzzing with tourists, was almost empty—just a few brave souls strolling like me. With no sun and light rain falling, the scene was oddly peaceful. My hangover might have lingered, but that walk? Totally therapeutic. 🌊

Standing proudly at 351 feet above sea level, this historic structure is one of the tallest lighthouses in the Philippines, second only to Cape Bojeador in Ilocos Norte. Built in 1905 by a team of American, British, and Filipino engineers, the lighthouse was designed to help guide vessels navigating the West Philippine Sea. Can you imagine how many lives this beacon has protected over the decades?

Climbing its 134 steps was no joke — but the panoramic coastal view from the top made every step worth it. As I reached the upper viewing area, I was greeted with sweeping vistas of Patar Beach, the turquoise sea, and rolling hills that seem to stretch endlessly into the horizon. For those who aren’t familiar, the Bahag is a traditional loincloth worn by the Igorot people. It’s an important part of their cultural identity and heritage, symbolizing strength, bravery, and pride. Wearing the Bahag allowed us to step into the shoes of the indigenous people of the region, giving us a deeper understanding of their rich history and customs.

We had such an amazing time taking photos in full Igorot attire, feeling the weight of the culture and learning more about its significance. The locals at Mines View Park were incredibly welcoming and shared so much knowledge with us about the Igorot way of life. I was so excited to find a variety of jackets—some branded, some vintage—that fit perfectly into my style. And the best part? They were all at prices you won’t believe! Trust me, Baguio is a haven for thrift shopping, and I found items I would never have expected to get at such low prices.

 Traveling is all fun and adventure—until your health suddenly takes a hit! My third day in White Beach, Puerto Galera took an unexpected turn when I suffered an asthma attack due to the cold and humid weather. 😷💨

Luckily, I always carry my trusty nebulizer, which I quickly plugged into the hotel socket to regain my breath. It was a frightening moment, but after resting and taking precautions, I was ready to explore again!

We were all set for the famous White Beach night party, but Mother Nature had other plans—rain poured down just as the night was about to begin. 🌧️ Did it stop us? Of course not! Instead, we took the fun to a KTV bar by the beach, where we sang our hearts out, enjoyed drinks 🍻, and partied with foreigners and fellow tourists.

The night got even better when fire dancers put on an incredible performance right at the beach gutter to avoid the rain! 🔥💃 The mix of fire, waves, and music created such a surreal vibe—it’s a moment I won’t forget.

In the morning, I woke up to the soothing sound of waves 🌊 and had a peaceful breakfast by the shore 🍳☕—the perfect way to wrap up this unforgettable Puerto Galera trip!

 Baguio City is famous for its chilly mornings, and we decided to experience it head-on with the daring Sando Challenge! Staying just a 5-minute walk from Burnham Park, we headed out at 5:00 AM in nothing but sleeveless shirts, braving the brisk 15°C air. The short walk felt like an ice-cold adventure as the wind nipped at our skin. As we reached the park, the misty morning greeted us with joggers, bikers, and fellow early risers. Despite the cold, the serene beauty of Burnham Park at dawn was worth it—it was both a test of endurance and an exhilarating start to the day!

After conquering the challenge (and wrapping ourselves in jackets!), we set out for the lively Baguio City Market. Just a quick ride from Burnham, this market is a treasure trove of fresh and affordable produce. Rows of vibrant vegetables and fruits greeted us: from the sweetest strawberries to crunchy bell peppers and crisp lettuce. I couldn’t resist grabbing bundles of Sagada oranges and freshly harvested broccoli. The prices? Unbelievably low! Whether you’re stocking up for a feast or looking for pasalubong, the market has everything you need at a bargain.
