Living on “Mount Urban Deca Tower EDSA”: When Home Becomes a Daily Climb

A personal story about living in Urban Deca Tower EDSA, where broken elevators turned high-rise condo living into a daily climb—highlighting safety concerns, emotional exhaustion, and resident frustration in Manila.

When Home Starts to Feel Like a Mountain

A day in my life at Urban Deca Tower EDSA—or as I jokingly call it now, Mount Urban Deca.

Since December 2025 until January 2026, residents have been forced to climb stairs every single day. Out of four fast elevators, only one is working. Imagine the reality: residents, guests, and Airbnb tenants spread across 42 floors, all struggling just to get home.

The “mount” part is a joke—but only because laughing is sometimes the only way to survive the frustration. In reality, this isn’t funny at all.

🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:

A Problem That Keeps Coming Back

This elevator issue is not new.

I’ve lived here for almost 10 years, and this has become a repeating cycle. Different management companies come and go, but the same problem returns—broken elevators, long waits, and no permanent solution.

What makes it even harder to accept is this:

this condo doesn’t even have many amenities. No pool. No luxury extras. The elevator is one of the few essential services we actually pay monthly dues for—and yet it’s the one that constantly fails.

The Silence Is the Loudest Part

What hurts the most is the silence.

A new management came in, and still—no clear action plan, no transparency, just complaints piling up. It’s exhausting. It’s stressful. And over time, it makes you feel invisible as a resident.

Sometimes I find myself asking a painful question:

Do we really have to wait for a medical emergency before something changes?

Because that’s honestly where this situation is heading.

Fire Exits Are Not Stairways

If I were to report to work daily, I’d have to climb 15 floors up and down using the fire exit.

Anyone who understands building safety knows this:

fire exits are not designed for daily use.

  • Poor ventilation
  • Low oxygen
  • Physically demanding, especially for the elderly, children, or people with medical conditions

Yet here we are—using them like normal stairways because we have no choice.

This Is No Longer Just an Inconvenience

This isn’t about being dramatic.

This isn’t about “arte lang.”

This is now a safety issue.

It’s physical exhaustion.

It’s emotional burnout.

It’s paying for a home that slowly turns into a daily test of patience and endurance.

I’m tired.

And I know I’m not the only one.

High-Rise Living Should Not Feel Like Punishment

Living in a high-rise condo should not feel like you’re being punished for going home.

Basic services should not feel like a privilege.

A home is supposed to give rest—not demand strength every single day.

Until then, welcome to Mount Urban Deca—where every return home feels like another climb.

When “I Don’t Want to Anymore” Is Really a Cry for Rest

Spiritual exhaustion, emotional burnout, and choosing rest over self-blame

There are moments when the words “I don’t want to anymore” quietly rise inside you. If that’s where you are today, pause and listen gently. This is not weakness. This is not selfishness. This is deep exhaustion, and it exists for a reason.

emotional burnout, spiritual exhaustion, healing journey, rest is healing, mental health awareness, choosing yourself, soul fatigue, emotional healing, burnout recovery

When you feel like you have nothing left to give, it does not mean you are empty of value. It means you have been giving for too long without rest. You have been the understanding one, the responsible one, the emotional backup for everyone else—often while no one was backing you up.

From a spiritual perspective, this kind of burnout is not failure. It is a signal from the soul. A sacred message that says, “Enough for now.” You are not being asked to quit life. You are being invited to pause, to lay down the weight, and to stop carrying everything alone.

Most of the time, “I don’t want to anymore” doesn’t mean you want to disappear. It means you no longer want a life built on constant sacrifice, endless understanding, and giving without receiving care in return. You are not required to break down just to be seen. You do not need to disappear for your pain to be valid.

You are allowed to stop.

🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:

You are allowed to say, “Not right now.”

You are allowed to choose yourself—even just this once.

If today feels heavy, just stay. One breath at a time is enough. You are still here for a reason—and that reason still matters.

City Lights After Dark: Ortigas Through My Samsung S25 Ultra

Ortigas changes its personality at night—and that’s when I love photographing it most. With my Samsung S25 Ultra, I walked through glowing paths, towering buildings, and festive lights, letting the city reveal its quieter, more poetic side.

The holiday installations, star lanterns, and light tunnels felt almost dreamlike against the dark sky. Skyscrapers stood tall like silent witnesses, their windows glowing with stories of people still awake, still moving, still living. What amazed me most was how the camera captured sharp details and rich colors even in low light—no heavy gear, just instinct and timing.

Night photography in Ortigas isn’t just about bright lights or architecture. It’s about contrast—stillness and motion, silence and noise, shadow and glow. These photos are my way of slowing down, observing, and finding beauty in the city I pass through every day, seen differently once the sun goes down.

Soul-Tired at 38: When Sleep Isn’t Enough and Life Feels Heavy

If you were born in the late 1980s, you might quietly carry a feeling that’s hard to explain.

Life has changed so much. Technology moved fast. Responsibilities piled up. Expectations grew heavier. On the surface, it may look like you should be grateful—you’ve survived, you’ve adapted, you’ve reached adulthood. But deep inside, there’s a weight that doesn’t go away.

You feel tired all the time.

Not the kind of tired that sleep can fix.

You rest, but you don’t feel rested.

🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:

You function, but you don’t feel alive.

And sometimes, the most painful thought creeps in: “Why do I still feel useless even after everything?”

This exhaustion is not laziness. It is not failure. And it is definitely not weakness. What you are experiencing is soul fatigue—the kind that comes from years of holding yourself together, being responsible, being strong, and not having the space to fall apart.

Many of us from this generation grew up learning to survive before we learned how to rest. We learned how to endure, how to adjust, how to stay quiet about our pain. Over time, that survival mode becomes heavy. The body may keep going, but the soul begins to ask for something different.

Spiritually speaking, this phase is often called the dark night of the soul. It doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It means something inside you is asking to be acknowledged. It’s not a punishment—it’s a pause. A sacred moment where life gently (or sometimes painfully) invites you to let go of old identities, old pressures, and the belief that your worth depends on productivity.

Feeling empty doesn’t mean you have no purpose.

Feeling lost doesn’t mean you are late.

Feeling tired doesn’t mean you are done.

It means you have carried too much for too long.

Sometimes healing doesn’t start with doing more. It starts with allowing yourself to be human. To admit you’re tired. To stop judging yourself for needing rest that goes deeper than sleep—rest that touches the mind, the heart, and the spirit.

If you are still here, breathing, reading this, feeling this—your life still matters. You don’t need to prove your value. You don’t need to catch up with anyone. You are allowed to slow down. You are allowed to heal.

This season may feel heavy, but it is also meaningful. Something in you is transforming. And for now, that is enough.

6 Things I Am Choosing to Cut Off This Year 2026 .

keywords

The year 2026 feels different for me.

Not louder. Not rushed.

But clearer.

This year is not about forcing change. It’s about intentional release.

Spiritually, I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always come from adding more—it often comes from cutting away what no longer aligns.

Here are the six things I am consciously cutting off in 2026, not from anger, but from awareness.

1. Toxic People

I no longer entertain connections that drain my energy, dismiss my truth, or thrive on chaos.

Cutting off toxic people doesn’t mean I hate them.

It means I finally love myself enough to choose peace.

Spiritually, energy exchange is sacred.

If the exchange is always heavy, confusing, or painful, it’s not love—it’s a lesson that has already been learned.

2. Time Wasters

Time is not just time—it is life force.

In 2026, I am cutting off habits, distractions, and routines that keep me busy but unfulfilled.

Mindless scrolling. Delayed dreams. Constant procrastination disguised as “rest.”

Spiritually, wasting time is disconnecting from purpose.

I now ask myself: Does this nourish my soul or numb it?

3. Bad Habits

Some habits are not flaws—they are coping mechanisms formed during survival mode.

This year, I release habits that keep me stuck in old versions of myself:

Self-sabotage

  • Escaping emotions instead of feeling them
  • Repeating cycles I already understand
  • Healing is not about perfection.

It’s about choosing better, one conscious decision at a time.

4. Comfort Zone

The comfort zone is not always safe—it is often familiar pain.

In 2026, I choose growth over convenience.

I choose discomfort that leads to expansion rather than comfort that leads to stagnation.

Spiritually, the soul expands through movement.

What scares me might be exactly where my next breakthrough lives.

5. Excuses

I am done explaining why I cannot show up for my own life.

Excuses often sound reasonable, but spiritually they are fear wearing logic.

This year, I replace excuses with responsibility.

Not pressure—ownership.

I may move slowly, but I will move honestly.

6. Fear and Ego

Fear keeps me small.Ego keeps me defensive.

In 2026, I release the need to prove, protect, or perform. I allow myself to be seen without armor.

Spiritually, fear dissolves when trust is practiced.

And ego softens when humility enters the room.

Closing Reflection

Cutting off is not about rejection—it is about alignment.

This year, I am choosing:

  1. Peace over people-pleasing
  2. Clarity over chaos
  3. Growth over comfort

And most importantly, I am choosing myself—not the old self built from wounds, but the truer self emerging from healing.

2026 is not my “perfect year.”

It is my honest one.

On Psychic Claims, Discernment, and Media Responsibility

In times of uncertainty, many people turn to psychics and spiritual figures for guidance. But this raises an important question that deserves honest reflection:

Can a psychic who consistently delivers negative or apocalyptic visions be considered trustworthy?

From my spiritual perspective, not necessarily.

True intuition is not fueled by fear. Genuine spiritual perception carries balance, clarity, and compassion. It recognizes possibilities, not fixed or unavoidable outcomes. Authentic insight understands that the future is fluid—shaped by consciousness, choice, and collective action, not sealed by doom.

Psychic ability alone does not guarantee truth or wisdom. Spiritual awareness must be grounded in discernment, ethics, and emotional responsibility. When messages focus solely on catastrophe, despair, or inevitability, they often strip people of agency rather than empower them. Spiritual insight, at its core, should awaken awareness—not create paralysis, panic, or helplessness.

This is where media responsibility becomes crucial.

Programs like Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, which reach millions of viewers, carry significant influence. Featuring fear-driven psychic narratives without proper context, grounding, or critical framing risks amplifying public anxiety and normalizing misinformation. Spiritual topics deserve depth and responsibility—not sensationalism.

Spirituality is not about predicting disaster.

It is about cultivating awareness, resilience, and conscious choice.

Discernment, therefore, is essential—not only for those who claim spiritual gifts, but also for the platforms that choose to amplify their voices. When spirituality is shared responsibly, it becomes a tool for empowerment, healing, and clarity—not fear.

The Manifestation Mindset: How a ₱15 Choice Reflects Self-Worth and Energy.

self worth mindset, manifestation mindset, spiritual empowerment, conscious living, energy alignment, self respect habits, daily manifestation, abundance mindset, personal growth spirituality, empowered lifestyle, intentional choices, mindset shift, spiritual awakening, law of attraction lifestyle, self care mindset, energy exchange, valuing yourself, conscious spending, modern spirituality, healing mindset

₱15 for Dignity: A Small Choice, A Powerful Energy

I’d honestly rather pay ₱15 for a clean, well-maintained, fresh-smelling restroom than use a free one that’s dirty, poorly kept, and barely functional 😂

Yes, there are free restrooms that are air-conditioned and well maintained. So it becomes a real choice:

  • 👉 Pay for a clean, intentional space or;
  • 👉 Take a 50/50 chance and hope the free one doesn’t drain your energy before you even step inside

And that’s where this becomes more than just about money.

This Is What Manifestation Looks Like in Real Life

Manifestation isn’t always about luxury, big purchases, or aesthetic lifestyles.

Sometimes, it shows up in small, grounded decisions—the kind that reflect how you value yourself on an everyday level.

Choosing to pay for a clean restroom is not being picky.

It’s not being entitled.

It’s not trying to look “above” anyone else. It’s choosing self-respect.

Energy matters. Spaces carry energy.

When you step into a place that’s neglected, chaotic, and unsanitary, your body feels it immediately. You hesitate. You rush. You disconnect.

That’s not alignment. That’s tolerance.

Manifestation Is About Living From Self-Worth, Not Scarcity

True manifestation comes from the belief that you deserve care, safety, and dignity, even in small moments.

This isn’t about spending money recklessly.

It’s about spending consciously.

Because avoiding a small expense while ignoring discomfort, health risks, and stress isn’t abundance—it’s survival mode.

And survival mode teaches the nervous system to accept less than it deserves.

Manifestation works when your actions say:

“I choose what supports me.”

“I honor my body.”

“I don’t need to suffer to prove I’m humble.”

That mindset shifts everything.

You Manifest What You Normalize

If you normalize inconvenience, neglect, and discomfort, you attract more of it.

If you normalize care, cleanliness, and intentional choices, life responds in the same frequency.

This isn’t about being wealthy.

This is about seeing yourself as worthy—now, not someday.

Even a ₱15 decision can be a declaration:

I value myself.

I choose better.

I live in alignment.

And that’s how empowerment quietly becomes manifestation.

Awakening Through Darkness: The True Meaning of Spiritual Maturity

spiritual awakening, shadow work, dark night of the soul, spiritual healing, inner healing journey, awakening consciousness, self awakening, soul awakening, emotional healing, healing trauma spiritually, Carl Jung shadow work, individuation process, spiritual maturity, conscious living, personal transformation, inner peace spirituality, spiritual growth journey, awakening after pain, turning pain into purpose, healing the inner child, spirituality and psychology, mindfulness and awareness, self awareness awakening, spiritual evolution, healing from within, enlightenment through darkness, shadow self integration, awakened soul, spiritual self discovery, spiritual wisdom, overcoming suffering spiritually, faith and healing, intuition awakening, authentic living, healing energy, spiritual motivation, spiritual guidance, awakened mindset, higher consciousness
Awakening is not choosing light over darkness—it is understanding both. Light brings awareness, darkness reveals what needs healing; angels and demons symbolize our higher self and our shadow, while yin and yang remind us that balance creates wholeness. True spiritual awakening happens when we stop denying parts of ourselves and start integrating them with compassion, truth, and self-awareness. To be awakened is to be whole, grounded, and conscious of both your strength and your wounds.

True spiritual awakening does not come from imagining figures of light or chasing constant positivity. As famously reflected in Jungian thought, enlightenment begins when we make the darkness conscious. Awakening happens when we face our shadows, heal what we once avoided, and integrate every part of who we are.

🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:

When this awakening unfolds, life is experienced with a new kind of awareness. You become present. The past no longer haunts you with regret, and the future no longer controls you through anxiety. You begin to realize that everything you were searching for was never outside of you—it was already here.

Ordinary moments start to feel sacred. A quiet sunrise, shared laughter, or silence becomes meaningful. Beauty is no longer something you chase; it reveals itself naturally. This does not mean life suddenly becomes easy. Pain still arises. Loss still visits. But now, you meet life with equanimity instead of resistance. You stop fighting reality and begin dancing with it.

This is spiritual maturity—the realization that you are worthy of peace. You understand that your purpose was never external. It was hidden within the very pain you tried to escape. The soul’s greatest test is not avoiding suffering, but learning how to transform it.

According to Carl Jung, the ultimate purpose of life is individuation—the integration of the conscious and unconscious self. When this happens, personal suffering evolves into compassion. You no longer live only for yourself. Your presence begins to heal others without effort. People may not understand why they feel calmer or safer around you, but it is not coincidence—it is resonance.

After awakening, life shifts from survival to meaning. Humility becomes essential. Awakening does not make you better than others; it makes you more aware. Gratitude becomes your natural language. Happiness is no longer a goal—it becomes a byproduct of authenticity.

Alignment follows. Your inner and outer worlds begin to match. You live with integrity, speak truth even when your voice trembles, and trust life’s rhythm even when the path disappears. Challenges are no longer punishments but invitations to grow. You learn to follow intuition instead of ego, and synchronicities begin to unfold.

A deeper purpose emerges: service. Your healing was never just for you. Whether through art, conversation, teaching, or quiet presence, your lived wisdom becomes guidance for others. Not through preaching—but through embodiment.

The world does not need perfect souls. It needs awakened, real ones—people who have faced their shadows and can offer empathy instead of judgment. Your authenticity gives others permission to be themselves.

There will still be moments of doubt. Old wounds may whisper again. But now, you know how to return. You understand that darkness is not the absence of light—it is the space where light renews itself.

Passing the most painful test of the soul is not a single event. It is an initiation into a new way of being—rooted in awareness, compassion, and faith in life’s mystery. The scars remain, but they no longer hurt. They are proof of transformation.

You are no longer broken.

You are whole.

Incense Burner Made From Bronze — Perfect for Rituals and Spiritual Awakening

As someone who constantly seeks balance, grounding, and spiritual connection—especially while living the micro-living lifestyle—I'm always on the lookout for tools that elevate my rituals. Recently, I added a new favorite to my collection: a Bronze Alloy Incense Burner that I bought from Shopee for only ₱259.

This beautifully crafted burner instantly caught my attention, not only because of its intricate design but also because it perfectly fits my small space. Living in a compact unit means I need items that are functional, sturdy, and space-efficient—and this one checks all the boxes.

🌿 Why I Bought It

I’ve always believed that incense burning is a powerful way to cleanse your energy, invite positivity, and awaken your spiritual senses. My old clay cauldron from Marinduque served me well, but I wanted something more durable and visually striking—something that looks mystical and feels intentional.

This bronze incense burner is exactly that. It’s perfect for burning incense coils, sticks, sandalwood powder, and even grains—making it a versatile addition to my cleansing tools.

 Pros

  •  Sturdy & Long-lasting

Because it's made of zinc alloy, this burner feels solid and strong. It’s something that will last years, even with frequent spiritual use.

  •  Aesthetic & Mystical

The design is what truly captivated me. With detailed carvings and a metallic finish, it instantly adds a mystical vibe to any altar or corner of your home. It makes me feel more connected during my rituals—like my spiritual tools are truly extensions of my intentions.

  •  Perfect Size for Small Spaces

Not too big, not too small. It fits perfectly on my altar table without cluttering my micro-living setup.

⚠️ Cons

  • It Heats Up Quickly

This is the biggest difference compared to my clay cauldron. Since the burner is made of metal, it becomes hot easily.

You cannot carry it with your bare hands to scatter the smoke—unless gusto mo masunog! I use a towel or cloth para safe. Unlike clay, metal conducts heat, so always be cautious.

  • Some Sharp Edges

Because it’s zinc alloy, there might be sharp parts around the legs or edges. Handle with care when opening the lid or moving it around.

🧘 My Takeaway

I might explore ceramic or clay incense burners again in the future, especially for usability. But for now, I’m completely in love with this bronze piece. It elevates the energy of my rituals, adds character to my altar, and makes me feel more grounded and connected.

For only ₱259, it’s definitely worth it.

🎇 Product Description (for your reference)

  • Suitable for incense sticks, coils, sandalwood grains, and powders
  • Best for incense coils with a diameter of 6.5–7 cm
  • Includes fireproof cotton (silver side down, black side up) for safety
  • Color and texture may vary slightly

CAUTION: Handle with care due to heat and potential sharp parts

If you also love cleansing rituals or want something that adds a spiritual touch to your home, this incense burner is a beautiful choice. Let me know if you want a review vlog about using it—I’d love to share more!

🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:

From Denpasar Airport, I was picked up and brought to Pandawa Beach Homestay, which is about a 45–60 minute drive. Pandawa is located more in the countryside, away from Bali’s busy city proper, making it a much quieter and more peaceful place. Since I arrived at the airport around 1 AM from NAIA, I decided to book the car pickup service offered by the homestay for my safety. It cost me around ₱3,000, on top of my accommodation fee. While there are more affordable options like motorcycle-hailing apps such as Gojek, or even the motorcycle queue outside the airport, I opted for the more convenient and safer car pickup service.

When I arrived at Pandawa Beach Homestay, the area was already dark and quiet—most of the stores were closed, and there was no food available nearby. Good thing I had the GrabFood app installed, and I was relieved to discover that it also works in Indonesia. That night, my food was delivered right to the homestay, and it was my first time trying authentic Indonesian Mi Goreng. After that satisfying meal, I went straight to bed, though I only managed to sleep for about four hours before waking up early at 7 AM.

The accommodation included a free breakfast as part of my overnight stay. In the morning, I headed to their common dining area where guests could order food. My breakfast set came with bread, eggs, fruits, and coffee. Since I’m used to the Philippines where food servings have become noticeably smaller due to inflation, I decided to order extra—Nasi Goreng and a glass of fresh juice—on top of the free meal. To my surprise, the serving sizes were huge and very affordable! The Nasi Goreng was so generous that I couldn’t even finish it all. This was such a big difference compared to the portions back home. I ended up packing the leftovers and storing them in the fridge, which worked out perfectly because checkout wasn’t until 12 noon. That meant I still had delicious food to eat before leaving the homestay.

After finishing my breakfast, I headed to the pool to relax by the side, wander around, and soak in the serene atmosphere of Pandawa Beach Homestay. The place reminded me of the provinces in the Philippines, but with a unique tropical vibe that made the experience even more refreshing

They also offer motorbike rentals, giving you the freedom to explore Bali at your own pace. Just keep in mind that the rental fee covers only the bike, while fuel and other expenses will be on your account.

One of the staff from the accommodation suggested that I should at least make a quick visit to Pandawa Beach. She was kind enough to offer me a ride on a motorbike, since the beach is just a few minutes away from where I stayed

By the way, the word pintu in Bali is the same as pinto in Filipino—both mean ‘door.’ A fun little language connection I discovered during my stay!

Interestingly, the word buka in Bali also means ‘to open,’ which is the same in Filipino. It’s amazing how some words connect our languages despite the distance.

This is for those who enjoy classic Ilocano flavors. The Papaitang Baka had a hearty, slightly bitter broth that paired beautifully with tender beef cuts and innards. It’s definitely an acquired taste—but if you appreciate authentic regional dishes, you’ll love this one.

🌿 Embracing the Plant Enthusiast Lifestyle in a 13sqm Studio in Mandaluyong

Living in the heart of the city can feel like a concrete jungle—but it doesn’t have to be. As someone living solo in a cozy 13sqm studio-type apartment in Mandaluyong, I’ve discovered the joy and calming power of filling my small space with greenery. Despite the tight quarters, my home has become a peaceful urban jungle, and a big part of that transformation started with a rainy-day decision that turned into a lifestyle.

During a recent typhoon in the Philippines, while rain poured nonstop outside, I found myself needing a dose of nature’s comfort. So, I stepped out briefly to gather some variegated pothos plants I had growing outside. I cut a few healthy vines and placed them in makeshift vases—just simple cups filled with water. One went on my work-from-home desk to keep me company through long hours of meetings and tasks. Another cup found a home on top of my fridge, next to a warm Himalayan salt lamp. I even placed some by the sink, resting gracefully on top of my water filter. And yes, two more now live in the bathroom, thriving under the occasional mist from the shower.

This lifestyle isn’t just about decorating—it’s about grounding. Plants have brought a fresh, peaceful vibe to my apartment, making even the smallest corners come alive. They’re not just decor; they’re daily reminders of life, care, and resilience. Especially when you live alone, as I do, these green companions offer silent support and create a space that feels truly nurturing. Whether you’re in a big house or a small studio, the plant enthusiast lifestyle can transform your space into a soothing sanctuary—even during a storm.

Watch how I spent a cozy rainy day collecting pothos vines, styling them in simple cups, and turning my studio into a leafy retreat amid the typhoon season.

During one of my usual GrabFood scroll sessions, I stumbled upon Seoul Korean Chicken House, located at Paz Building, 705 Boni Ave., Mandaluyong City. I’ve heard good things about their Korean-Japanese fusion menu, so I figured—why not redeem my BPI points and treat myself?

Here’s what I ordered and my honest thoughts on each dish:

🍱 Chicken Katsudon – ₱200

Classic, comforting, and surprisingly authentic for a delivery order!

This dish features a crispy chicken cutlet topped with a soft egg and served over warm white rice. The sauce had that sweet and savory balance you’d expect from a good katsudon.

The chicken was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and it still held its texture even after delivery. This one hit the spot, especially for fans of Japanese comfort food.

🐙 Octobits Takoyaki (16 pcs) – ₱140

These bite-sized takoyaki balls were a fun surprise.

They were filled with tiny octopus bits, topped with bonito flakes, mayo, and that signature takoyaki sauce. I love that they served it in generous portions—16 pieces, perfect for sharing (or not!).

The flavor was on point—not too doughy, with a nice chewy center and crisp outer layer. Great for snacking while binge-watching your favorite K-dramas!

✅ Verdict: Delightful and addictive. If you love takoyaki, this is a must-try!

🍗 12 pcs Korean Wings – ₱410 (Premium Honey Butter )

Now this was the showstopper!

I ordered the Premium Honey Butter , and both flavors were absolutely mouthwatering.

The honey butter had that sweet, creamy flavor that coated each wing without being overly sticky. Meanwhile, the Louisiana BBQ was tangy, slightly spicy, and rich in flavor—think smoky with a kick!

These wings were crispy, juicy, and saucy, just the way Korean fried chicken should be.

FREE FOOD Using BPI Rewards! 😋 | GrabFood x Best Friends, Boni Ave. Mandaluyong 🇵🇭

Can you really enjoy your favorite Filipino comfort food without spending a single peso? The answer is a big YES—thanks to my unused BPI Rewards points, I was able to redeem delicious Pinoy dishes from Best Friends Diner along Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong, all delivered conveniently via GrabFood. free food using BPI rewards,BPI rewards redemption 2025,how to redeem BPI rewards for food,GrabFood BPI promo,Best Friends restaurant Mandaluyong, free GrabFood with credit card points,Filipino comfort food review, sinigang na baboy review,Mandaluyong food vlog,BPI credit card perks, daing na bangus Filipino food, fried chicken Pinoy style, top Filipino dishes GrabFood, food vlog Philippines, best Pinoy food delivery,BPI rewards 2025 guide, how to use BPI points

I was honestly just looking for something warm and comforting after a stressful workweek—and this experience turned out to be so much more than just a free meal. It brought back nostalgic feelings of home, of being welcomed by a home-cooked meal from someone who cares. Think: “Luto ni Lola” vibes in every bite. 🥹💖

Here’s a rundown of what I ordered and my honest review of each:

🍲 Sinigang na Baboy – ₱319

This was the true highlight of my meal. Priced reasonably at ₱319, I’d say this serving is good for at least three to four people.

The broth had that perfectly balanced asim-tamis flavor, with a slightly oily finish that I actually found comforting—it felt rich and indulgent. After a long, draining day, that first sip of the sabaw honestly melted my stress away.

The pork used in the Sinigang was liempo, layered with skin, fat, and tender meat, which made each bite incredibly satisfying. It was soft, melt-in-the-mouth, and clearly boiled to perfection. The vegetables were generously added too: kangkong (water spinach), eggplant, okra, and even some Chinese cabbage, giving the dish a nice earthy texture.

✅ VERDICT: A bowl of pure comfort. Perfect whether you're coming home from work or nursing a hangover. A must-try!

🍗 Whole Fried Chicken – ₱552

Next up is the Whole Fried Chicken, and let me just say—this isn’t your typical fried chicken. I asked them to have it pre-cut into bite-sized pieces, and it arrived hot and ready to eat.

The aroma when I opened the container immediately caught my attention—it smelled like it had been infused with lemongrass, star anise, and what I think might be banana blossoms. Very aromatic and uniquely Filipino.

It tasted like the chicken was first boiled or steamed, then deep-fried, which gave it a crispy skin without the excess oil. The meat inside was tender and juicy, and every bite was packed with flavor—not bland or over-fried.

✅ VERDICT: Flavorful, fragrant, and thoughtfully prepared. Worth the price for a whole chicken that feels festive and comforting.

🐟 Daing na Bangus – ₱138

To complete the meal, I added Daing na Bangus to the order. At ₱138, this was a budget-friendly addition that made the meal feel even more traditional.

The bangus was crispy on the outside, flavorful, and didn’t taste overly oily or salty. Just the way I like it—simple and very nostalgic. It reminded me of breakfasts at home during weekends growing up.

✅ VERDICT: Great value, great flavor. Simple but definitely soul-satisfying.

🏠 The Overall Experience: Food That Feels Like Home

Eating these dishes from Best Friends Diner was like stepping back into my childhood home. It reminded me of times when my grandmother would cook us hearty meals, the type that warms not just your stomach, but your soul.

If you’re like me and need a little break from the chaos of life—this kind of food brings comfort in a way no fast-food combo meal ever could. It’s perfect for when you’re stressed, tired, or just missing home.

And the best part? It didn’t cost me a thing.
I simply redeemed my BPI Rewards points through GrabFood, and boom—free delivery, free comfort food, and a heart full of warmth.
