Facing Fears and Finding Serenity: Sagbayan Peak and Goodbye, Bohol
After an adrenaline-packed experience at EAT Danao Adventure Park, where I took on the heart-stopping challenge of The Plunge, I thought I had reached my limit. The extreme freefall left me physically drained and mentally shaken, making it hard to focus on vlogging. Yet, there was one more destination on our Bohol itinerary that promised serenity and stunning views—Sagbayan Peak.
As we arrived at Sagbayan Peak, the tranquil atmosphere was a welcome contrast to the intensity of the day. Perched on a ridge, Sagbayan Peak offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills, which resemble the iconic Chocolate Hills that Bohol is famous for. Walking through the park, I felt a sense of calm return as I admired the lush landscape and the charming attractions. The observation decks provided breathtaking vistas, while the butterfly dome and whimsical displays added a touch of playfulness to the experience.
🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:We wrapped up the visit with a delightful dinner at the Sagbayan Peak restaurant. The cozy ambiance and delicious food provided the perfect end to our Bohol adventure. As we said goodbye to this beautiful island and set off by sea to Cebu, I carried with me not just the thrill of conquering fears but also the memory of finding peace amidst the chaos. If there’s one thing Sagbayan Peak taught me, it’s that

Our first stop was Bauan Market, a local gem known for its wide range of fresh produce. Located on the highway at 135 Legaspi in Bauan, Batangas, this bustling wet and dry market has everything from pork and fish to fresh vegetables. We arrived courtesy of Bryan’s trusty car, making the quick 20-minute drive from Anilao. With a budget of 3,000 pesos, we gathered ingredients for our meals while immersing ourselves in the local market vibe. Chiara and I sneaked off to grab some freshly cooked bananacue along the highway, savoring this sweet snack before rejoining our friends.
On the drive back, we experienced a true countryside moment. Despite the rainy afternoon, we stumbled upon a guava tree brimming with ripe fruits near our accommodation at Anilao Scuba Dive Center. We couldn’t resist plucking a few guavas right off the branches, eating them with a pinch of salt for that perfect tangy-sweet taste. It brought us back to our childhood days, where simple moments like these left a lasting impression. Nothing says "Batangas" like fresh, organic fruits right from the source!

As evening approached, we gathered to prepare an epic Filipino feast featuring some classic favorites. Our menu included pork sinigang with its savory broth, grilled bangus (milkfish), pork BBQ skewers, hotdogs, and, of course, rice. Cooking together added an extra layer of fun to the experience, and by the time dinner was ready, we were more than eager to dive in. Each bite was a reminder of why Filipino food brings people together—it’s all about the flavors, memories, and shared moments.

My Motorcycle Adventure in Baler, Aurora: A First-Time Rider's Tale
February 2, 2020, marked the beginning of an exciting chapter in my #travelVlog series as I ventured into the beautiful landscapes of Baler, Aurora, and learned to ride a motorcycle for the first time. Although I was familiar with riding a bicycle, navigating a motorcycle was an entirely new experience. Accompanied by my college friend Bonjo, who served as my mentor, we rented a motorcycle for the day, aiming to explore every nook and cranny of Baler. Our first stop was the picturesque Aniao Islets, followed by a visit to Ermita Hills and a quick detour to a charming mini waterfall.
The highlight of our trip, however, was the challenging ride up to the PAGASA Baler Weather Station. Located at Sitio Diguisit in Barangay Zabali, this route was known for its steep and treacherous paths. As a first-time rider, this was undoubtedly the most daunting part of our journey. The thrill and fear of navigating such a difficult and curved ways where cliff is waiting for you whenever you go wrong in driving - were palpable, but the reward at the end made it all worthwhile. Upon reaching the summit, we were greeted with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, where we couldn’t resist recording a dance to Sarah G's "Tala" and striking some acrobatic poses.
After an adrenaline-packed day, we returned to our cozy accommodation at GoSurfari House. That evening, we enjoyed a delightful dinner with other guests from around the world, sharing stories and experiences. The sense of camaraderie and the warmth of new friendships added an extra layer of joy to our adventure. It was a perfect end to a day filled with learning, exploration, and overcoming personal challenges.
The next morning, on February 3, 2020, we set off early for Sabang Beach. The beach, with its inviting waves and serene ambiance, was the perfect spot to unwind. We indulged in a hearty breakfast of tapsilog, lugaw, and coffee, soaking in the morning sun and the soothing sounds of the ocean. After breakfast, we couldn't resist taking a refreshing swim, letting the cool waters wash away the fatigue from the previous day's adventure.
Reflecting on this trip, I realized that it was more than just a travel experience; it was a journey of personal growth and discovery. From the thrill of learning to ride a motorcycle to the joy of exploring Baler's stunning landscapes, every moment was a step towards embracing new challenges and making unforgettable memories. This adventure in Baler, Aurora, will always hold a special place in my heart, and I hope my #travelVlog inspires others to step out of their comfort zones and embark on their own journeys of discovery.
Conquering The World’s Highest Canyon Swing, THE PLUNGE of Danao, Bohol.

I’ve been saying this quote “live life to the fullest co’z life is worth celebrating for”. I always kept in mind that I have to embody such statement in my every day way of living. Do not settle in a boring situation because we can only live once and so; we have to make the most out of it. I always make sure that I have to experience exciting things that I’ve never done before.
Looking back these past 30 years of my existence, I think this one of the most extreme adventures that I have experienced – to conquer the world’s highest canyon swing. May 26, 2018 together with William Pombo ( a good friend of mine) and my cousins from Bohol – Rosemarie “Inday”Bastasa and Vitaliano “Bajun” Bastasa Jr. Witnessed how I shouted when I was released and got swing towards –somewhat, I called it infinity.
I don’t have any phobia of height at all but the experience was mind blowing wherein it will leave a scar of happiness and fulfilment in my whole being. Undeniably, it was one of the highlights in my life. This story took place at Municipality of Danao, Province of Bohol which we really spent time and effort just to get there. It was then worthy to give aim this (in) famous dignifying “THE PLUNGE” for the amount of PHP700. Indeed, I was not paying for “the Plunge” itself but I paid for the so called “EXPERIENCE” and it is priceless for me.
“The Plunge” is just one of the main activities offered by E.A.T (Extreme Adventure Tour) Danao. EatDanao is Bohol’s ecotourism park where tourist can go river trekking, rappelling, rock climbing, caving and even kayaking through the parks incredible and picturesque landscape. A canyon swing adventure attraction named “The Plunge” is mounted over a 200 meter high and 300 meter wide defile. The swing itself calls for you to free fall for about 70 meters before being launched into a pendulum swing, 100 meters wide back and forth – which really made me dizzy and threw up afterwards.
Watch My Vlog:
Truly, I will never ever forget this event in my life. The feeling - seemingly it was the end of the world, those shouts that echoed within the location, those laughter from the people watching me while I was swinging, those were memories that will leave a mark in my heart. And I want you guys to experience that.

Promise! I’ll bet my life if you will not enjoy it. Love Love Love..
🚴 Pedicab Driving Challenge – an Experience that Changes on How I See Things.

August 3, 2017 – I received an email coming from an organization named *Food for the Hungry Philippines inviting me to be part of their vision trip in ***Malabon City and ****Navotas. This is one of their projects that let the selected online personalities, vloggers and bloggers to experience the life of the selected families living in that area. I was very excited due to the fact that things like these are my interests –the so called challenges.
August 5, 2017 6:00AM. I went to the office of Food for the Hungry Philippines and together with the staff; we drove towards Katipunan, Malabon city to meet the Obido Family (my host family). I met Mang Edgar Obido and his wife Aling Irene Obido , who survived in a “below poverty line” way of living. Mang Edgar is a **Pedicab driver. Indeed, for that day, I will replace him in driving his Pedicab. Moreover, I’ll also immerse them and have some lunch at 12NN after my task of earning money from driving his Pedicab.

I was surprised at first because I thought that I’ll just film them on how they live their daily routines but the staff told me to earn money for them. The family picked me up at the drop off location and the staff left me in Obido’s possession. I drove the Pedicab heading towards the house of Mang Edgar. He was remotely driving his bicycle, simultaneously giving me the instruction - both how to drive the Pedicab and how to reach his place. Even if Mang Edgar was guiding me, I still didn’t rely on him because I was the one driving the Pedicab and whenever there is an accident – it’s still my responsibility.

While I started to put my force on the pedal, I saw how the van and the staff became smaller and started to fade. “I am now alone; I am now responsible for myself.” Mixed of pressure and excitement were the emotions that I felt. It was my first time to manoeuvre such vehicle. Until I didn’t notice that I hit the other side of the Pedicab into a car. The driver of the car was mad at me but I continue driving away from the location as fast as I can, because I might pay for the damage. From then, I can feel the pressure; it was not all about earning money but I have to consider my safety also.

I can feel now how difficult the life of Mang Edgar. My sweat started to drop and I can feel my shirt became wet as my thirst increases. In every pedal that I made, it was an extreme slap to my face saying “Stop complaining in your life Tansyong”. I kept on smiling but deep within I knew my tears started to fall down. Good thing, it was not noticeable since the sweat on my face was more obvious over my tears.

When I reached the house of Mang Edgar, I left my belongings and changed my get up into a comfortable one. Then, we headed towards the market to start the main challenge – to pick up a passenger. I assumed it was just easy since I’m very talkative to convince people in riding my Pedicab; however I was wrong, there were hundreds of Pedicab and Tricycle drivers who are more competitive and powerful than me. I tried to control myself, the scenario and everything that can hinder my goal. I maintained my positive mindset and kept smiling even if the heat of the sun started to burn my skin. Fortunately, it works and I got my first passenger but another fortuitous event happened. Before I was able to pick up my passenger, while trying to manoeuvre the Pedicab, the third wheel fall down inside the open drainage and I can’t move anymore. Another Pedicab driver approached and helped me because I started to cause a heavy traffic at the area.

Beep! Beep! Beep!
It was annoying sound because it indicates that I need to hurry up. In addition, I heard some laughter from other drivers while watching me – having hard time.
🎬PART 1
🎬PART 2
What about the experience? It was life changing. It teaches me on how to be grateful in life that I’m currently having. I need to be thankful in every single and small blessing that I received because there are other people out there who live in scarcity yet they are happy. It opens my eyes on how to see things – I have no right to complain because there’s someone out there who’s dreaming of living the way I live my life. Instead, I need to value what I have today and start to work it out to grow.

I really appreciate to Mang Edgar Obido and family in allowing me to stay with them and experience their life. Indeed, thank you to Food for the Hungry Philippines, for having me as your guest and letting me to see the other side of Malabon and Navotas. Truly, I’ll never forget nor erase this one of a kind experience because it is already part of Jonathan “Tansyong” Orbuda.
