🎀 Basic Cheerleading Moves Ft. CAA Stingrays Pep Squad, Las Pinas.

Two days from now, the NCC Season 14 Final will be kicking higher with its theme “ We are fearless”, that’s gonna be on March 9-10, 2019  at 2:00 PM, SM Mall of Asia Arena. If you can’t make it on weekend, nothing to worry about; because National Cheerleading Championship is partnered with ESPN5 and you can watch it LIVE at the comfort in your home.

As a supporter of CAA Stingrays and CUP Eagles Pep Squad who made it to the Finals, I’ll be watching it live since I got the privilege of having “ALL ACCESS” wrist band courtesy of Rhey Jinald Almazan – coach of CAA Stingrays and CUP Eagles Pep Squad. I am not really sure if I am going to cover all the routines and performances from all the teams and upload it in my channel as YouTube recently became strict on copyright issues. And I have to be careful about it since all the music that the teams will be using is copyright protected.  In addition, I just want to enjoy watching instead of bothering myself taking videos.

One thing for sure, I’ll just vlog that day but I can’t promise if I can upload all the performances. Hopefully, if I got motivated – then I will cover it and just upload it in my second channel. Sana di ako mapagod  😏 .

Meanwhile, bago tayo maging pressure sa FINAL. I’ll just share you guys this video wherein CAA Stingrays Pep Squad challenged me to take their mats and to experience their lives as cheerleaders.

🎥 [WATCH ] Vocabulary Challenge – a Collaboration of M.A. Buendia and Tansyong Orbuda.

It’s time for M.A Buendia HD to pay his debt of gratitude, LOL!.. As we all knew that we had a successful collaboration video with this call centre youtuber, which now has almost 16k views in his Youtube Channel. If you haven’t watched it yet, just (CLICK HERE). And so, this time, we filmed collaboration for my channel.

This was recorded right after the launching of “Youtube Creator Community Ambassadors” on August 19,2017 at Relik Bar and Restaurant – Bonifacio Global City.   While other Youtubers were busy socializing; MA and I were also busy filming for this video.

A vocabulary is a set of familiar words within a person's language. A vocabulary, usually developed with age, serves as a useful and fundamental tool for communication and acquiring knowledge. Acquiring an extensive vocabulary is one of the largest challenges in learning a second language. First round will be "USE IN A SENTENCE"; player will pick a word and he will use it in a sentence. Second round will be the SYNONYMS; player will pick a word and utter another word with the same meaning. Third round will be the ANTONYMS; player will give an opposite meaning to the word that he'll randomly pick. This challenge/game was prepared by my friend William Pombo who once appeared in many videos in my channel. (VIDEO 1) (VIDEO 2) (VIDEO 3)

“Since both of you, MA and Tansyong are working in the same industry. Why not take this challenge that will measure your knowledge in terms of English” said William Pombo.

“You’re both Youtubers; M.A. Buendia vlogs about call centre and Tansyong vlogs about challenges. So, why not create a challenge what both of them have in common – VOCABULARY”, Pombo added.

🚴 Pedicab Driving Challenge – an Experience that Changes on How I See Things.

August 3, 2017 – I received an email coming from an organization named *Food for the Hungry Philippines inviting me to be part of their vision trip in ***Malabon City and ****Navotas.  This is one of their projects that let the selected online personalities, vloggers and bloggers to experience the life of the selected families living in that area. I was very excited due to the fact that things like these are my interests –the so called challenges.

August 5, 2017 6:00AM. I went to the office of Food for the Hungry Philippines and together with the staff; we drove towards Katipunan, Malabon city to meet the Obido Family (my host family). I met Mang Edgar Obido and his wife Aling Irene Obido , who survived in a “below poverty line” way of living.  Mang Edgar is a **Pedicab driver. Indeed, for that day, I will replace him in driving his Pedicab. Moreover, I’ll also immerse them and have some lunch at 12NN after my task of earning money from driving his Pedicab.



I was surprised at first because I thought that I’ll just film them on how they live their daily routines but the staff told me to earn money for them. The family picked me up at the drop off location and the staff left me in Obido’s possession. I drove the Pedicab heading towards the house of Mang Edgar. He was remotely driving his bicycle, simultaneously giving me the instruction - both how to drive the Pedicab and how to reach his place.  Even if Mang Edgar was guiding me, I still didn’t rely on him because I was the one driving the Pedicab and whenever there is an accident – it’s still my responsibility.



While I started to put my force on the pedal, I saw how the van and the staff became smaller and started to fade. “I am now alone; I am now responsible for myself.” Mixed of pressure and excitement were the emotions that I felt. It was my first time to manoeuvre such vehicle. Until I didn’t notice that I hit the other side of the Pedicab into a car. The driver of the car was mad at me but I continue driving away from the location as fast as I can, because I might pay for the damage. From then, I can feel the pressure; it was not all about earning money but I have to consider my safety also.


I can feel now how difficult the life of Mang Edgar. My sweat started to drop and I can feel my shirt became wet as my thirst increases. In every pedal that I made, it was an extreme slap to my face saying “Stop complaining in your life Tansyong”. I kept on smiling but deep within I knew my tears started to fall down. Good thing, it was not noticeable since the sweat on my face was more obvious over my tears.



When I reached the house of Mang Edgar, I left my belongings and changed my get up into a comfortable one. Then, we headed towards the market to start the main challenge – to pick up a passenger.  I assumed it was just easy since I’m very talkative to convince people in riding my Pedicab; however I was wrong, there were hundreds of Pedicab and Tricycle drivers who are more competitive and powerful than me. I tried to control myself, the scenario and everything that can hinder my goal. I maintained my positive mindset and kept smiling even if the heat of the sun started to burn my skin. Fortunately, it works and I got my first passenger but another fortuitous event happened. Before I was able to pick up my passenger, while trying to manoeuvre the Pedicab, the third wheel fall down inside the open drainage and I can’t move anymore. Another Pedicab driver approached and helped me because I started to cause a heavy traffic at the area.



Beep! Beep! Beep!

It was annoying sound because it indicates that I need to hurry up. In addition, I heard some laughter from other drivers while watching me – having hard time.

What about the experience? It was life changing. It teaches me on how to be grateful in life that I’m currently having. I need to be thankful in every single and small blessing that I received because there are other people out there who live in scarcity yet they are happy. It opens my eyes on how to see things – I have no right to complain because there’s someone out there who’s dreaming of living the way I live my life. Instead, I need to value what I have today and start to work it out to grow.



I really appreciate to Mang Edgar Obido and family in allowing me to stay with them and experience their life. Indeed, thank you to Food for the Hungry Philippines, for having me as your guest and letting me to see the other side of Malabon and Navotas. Truly, I’ll never forget nor erase this one of a kind experience because it is already part of Jonathan “Tansyong” Orbuda.

• **Pedicab – A bicycle turned into a public utility vehicle by attaching a third wheel and side car to accommodate more passengers. 
• ***Malabon City - (Wikipedia) Malabon, officially the City of Malabon (Filipino: Lungsod ng Malabon), is one of the cities and municipalities that make up Metro Manila in the Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 365,525.Located just north of Manila, it is primarily a residential and industrial town and is one of the most densely populated cities in the metropolis. It has a total land area of 15.96 square kilometers.
• ****Navotas.- Navotas is a city in the Philippines located north of Manila that is known as the Fishing Capital of the Philippines. The city has the third largest fish port in Asia and the largest in Southeast Asia. Although it was established on December 20, 1827, Navotas celebrates its foundation day every January 16. Navotas became a highly-urbanized city on June 24, 2007.

At Some Point In My Life, I Am Dreaming Of Becoming A Fire Dancer.

The first time I tried handling POI was during my Calaguas Travel-few years ago. I've met this POI instructress randomly. She was one of the joiners in backpacking travel organized by a famous travel blogger James Betia. I told her that I‘m really interested in learning such an act. She let me use her Poi saying “Just show me how you dance, with the POI yet without any basic knowledge of Poi dancing”.

“Just feel the music, close your eyes and connect yourself to the poi “she added.

I was surprised because I successfully executed the dance with poi, for the first time.  According to her, it shows on my moves that I am really interested and I have the guts to become a fire dancer.

Believing in her influential statement, I exposed myself to random fire dancers in Puerto Galera whenever I had a chance to go there. It was like hitting two birds – having friends and learning the act for free. They taught me some basic techniques and slowly I learned them after a few sessions.

Until now, whenever I have idle time, I watch some instructional videos on YouTube.

Truly, when you’re interested in something, it is frustrating not to satisfy our impetus. In this case, I really wanted to learn this Fire Dance and I’ll find a way as much as I can to master this craft. In fact, I am saving a portion of my daily allowance so that I can buy POI in the future.

Marinduque Challenge 2014: The Unforeseen Couch Surfing.

Mang Victor arrived at Sta Cruz around 6:30PM and we hurriedly ride to his tricycle. We told him about what happened - the haggling between us and the tricycle drivers around the town. Indeed, we were very thankful to have Mang Victor.

“Good thing you guys remembered me” he said.

He drove us going to Mogpog. We are not prepared of the coldness of the surrounding. Our way is too dark and the good thing is Marinduque’s main road is smooth – enough to reduce our fear. We are not even ready about the span of travel time. I personally expect that it only takes around half hour to reach Mogpog . However, we arrived almost 8:30PM.

The house of Mang Victor is situated near at Balanacan Port – beside the office of Naval/Marine Police station. Mang Victor was very nice to us and accommodating person, despite that we just barely know each other. He brought us to his mother’s house which is idle and no one stays. It is just behind to his house and small store.

We quickly cleaned up the house so that we can able to sleep then.

“ Oh! Kayo na bahala dito , may mga outlet jan at pwede kayo magcharge.(Alright guys! You know what to do, there are electrical outlets available and you can use it to recharge your gadgets)” Mang Victor said.

After we finished cleaning up, we positioned ourselves to sleep and so Mang Victor gave us ventilation. While we were lying down, we talked about our adventures happened in the entire day. The night was full of laughter despite of tiredness. “Grabeh yung araw na to, sobrang dami nangyayari (This day is truly amazing, we’ve been a lot of things today)”Irene said.

“Guys, let’s give Mang Victor an incentives. Let us add at least 25PHP each one of us for the fair” Bonj said. Everyone agreed after we learnt how far the Town of Sta. Cruz going to Town of Mogpog. And so we contributed PHP100 each plus the incentives of PHP25. We gave it to Mang Victor, “ Naku Salamat po, nag pa gasolina kasi ako ng PHP300 pag sundo ko sa inyo” Mang Victor said. Not bad he still earned PHP200.

Meanwhile, let me share you about what is “CouchSurfing”. It is a temporary stay in a series of random people’s homes, typically making use of improvised sleeping arrangement. And our team accidentally experienced such practice – CouchSurfing – a cheap form of lodging used mainly by travelers like us which is on a shoestring budget.


The normal concept of couchsurfing is done online. There are lots of websites that you can join with (e.i. Couchsurfing International Inc.) that offer hospitality exchange. There are two parties that play a huge rule mainly the surfer (like us) and the host that offers the accommodation. You can check who the legitimate hosts are online and contact them directly prior on your travel. However in our case, it was unexpected CouchSurfing – we are lucky that we are in good hands of a good host.

It was my first time and I love the feeling of sleeping in a house of random people because they (hosts) allowed you to be part of their home, immerse their culture, and know their lives. What I like about it, is you able to save a huge amount instead of staying in a hotel. Moreover, you will also learn to trust and build friendship at the same time.  But you still need to be cautious to choose your future host to avoid misadventures.


“RING! RING! RING!!!!!!!! 4AM” the phone alarmed and only Norie and I forced ourselves to wake up. Bonj and Irene were still snoring. Norie and I decided to go out and look for food store. The wind outside was very cold as we were facing towards the sea.

Refreshing and fulfilling. We paid PHP50 each one of us for the Couch Surfing.

After we ate our breakfast, we started to prepare for the brand new day – The last day of Marinduque Challenge 2014

Marinduque Challenge 2014: The Rescue.

We were at the town proper of Sta. Cruz, Marinduque 5:30 pm, done eating and we were about to go to Town of Mogpog when we learned at the terminal that the last trip of the van left already just a few minutes before we finished our food. We asked the locals but unfortunately according to them we need to stay overnight because 5AM of succeeding day is the next trip.

Bonj inquired the local tricycle drivers if how much we are going to spend if they’ll bring us to next town. “PHP500” , the driver answered.

“Naku kuya, we already hired for Php500 (PHP125 each) from Malbog Spring to Poctoy. We can no longer spend that much. We are only backpackers” Irene responded.

“Ok, PHP400 will do” the driver started to bargain.

We gathered in one place to talk about the next move. Our original plan was to stay in Mogpog overnight so it is easy for the team to rove the town next day without wasting time- we need to fulfill it. During the discussion, Bonj remembered that when they arrived at the port in Mogpog, they met this local driver named Mang Victor who offered them a space right at their house in case of emergency.

“Ok, here is my suggestion. It would be better if you (Bonj) are going to contact Mang Victor to rescue us here. It’s ok for me to spend PHP400 (PHP100 each) if we paid it to him, because if we opted Mang Victor, there is an assurance where we can stay this night.” I quickly proposed.


Bonj swiftly grabbed his phone and called Mang Victor right then. “We are still fortunate because we have Mang Victor” Norie jokingly said. “But we are more fortunate if we catch the last trip because it is only PHP60” I answered. And everyone was laughing.

Imagine, we spent the amount of PHP 100 each instead of PHP60. Truly PHP40 is a huge amount for me but the point that we were not in hurry- that was priceless and we were able to enjoy the moment and be at the moment.


Moreover, while waiting for Mang Victor, we watched a basketball game at the town proper.  Supposedly we planned to proceed to the famous Kawakawa falls (for side trip) while waiting for rescue of Mang Victor. But the team decided to stay and watch the game because we were all tired.

Puerto Princesa City: The 6-day Challenge

The Challenge

The 6-day Challenge was happened from June 4-9, 2013. The challenge was part of annual out of town travel of The Pillar Publication staffer’s vacation. It was planned by the whole team headed by Dr. Shellanie Dacumos an adviser of the said publication. Each participant was required to pay PHP4500.00 for the said escapade. The destination was Puerto Princesa City.

The said publication raised their own fund by accepting lay outing and news coverage, magazines or any form of media communication form from third party to subsidized the travel ( The publication don’t used their budget came from the University, ).

What about the challenge?



Basically, Rizal is my home province since I studied college. In a span of my stay in Rizal, I was not able to rove the whole province. But after a year, together with my friends and co- travelers, we come up a plan to travel the whole Rizal for 500PHP each one of us.  In just for three days , its ocular travel and at the same time a challenge.

Aka Norie, a photo enthusiast, who is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management. She is currently working as a photographer in an advertising and media company situated in Taguig City. She is known as a small battery ball, when she captured those dramatic photos that made her famous in every photo essay contest. She is also a former Editor in chief of The Pillar Publication for the graphic department. Some of her photo was also published in some of the magazine. For now aside her job, she spent her idle time in Travelling and posting it to her Tumblr account.
