Hey, fellow travelers! Welcome back to my Baguio travel vlog series! ✨ If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Philippines, then you’ll love today’s adventure. We’re in Baguio City, specifically at the iconic Mines View Park, where we took a step back in time to experience the traditional Igorot culture in a way that was both fun and educational. And yes, that means wearing the traditional Igorot attire—Bahag! 😍

Our Journey to Mines View Park 🚎

After a scenic jeepney ride from Burnham Park, we arrived at Mines View Park, which offers stunning panoramic views of the mountains of Benguet and the historic gold mines. The park is a must-visit spot when in Baguio—whether you’re a nature lover or a culture enthusiast, you’ll find something to appreciate here. 🌄

But here’s the twist—aside from the breathtaking views, the highlight of our visit was donning the traditional Bahag attire and taking some amazing photos while riding a horse! 🏇🐎 This was definitely an unforgettable experience and a great way to connect with the Igorot heritage of the Cordillera Region.

🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:

What is Bahag? 🤔

For those who aren’t familiar, the Bahag is a traditional loincloth worn by the Igorot people. It’s an important part of their cultural identity and heritage, symbolizing strength, bravery, and pride. Wearing the Bahag allowed us to step into the shoes of the indigenous people of the region, giving us a deeper understanding of their rich history and customs.

Our Cultural Experience 🧡

We had such an amazing time taking photos in full Igorot attire, feeling the weight of the culture and learning more about its significance. The locals at Mines View Park were incredibly welcoming and shared so much knowledge with us about the Igorot way of life. It was a fun and respectful way to embrace Baguio’s deep cultural roots while enjoying the beauty of the place.

The best part? We even got to experience riding a horse while wearing the Bahag, which made for some epic photos! The whole experience was a great reminder of how important it is to appreciate and respect the diverse cultures of the Philippines.

Why You Should Visit Mines View Park and Try the Bahag Experience! 🌟

If you’re planning a trip to Baguio City, don’t miss out on Mines View Park. Not only will you get some of the best views of Baguio’s surrounding mountains, but you’ll also have the chance to learn about the indigenous Igorot culture in an interactive and fun way. And trust me, wearing the Bahag is an experience you won’t forget!

Be sure to check out the full vlog, where I share all the details of this cultural adventure, and join me in exploring the beauty of Baguio’s history and traditions! 📸

Until next time, happy travels and keep embracing new cultures! 🌍✨

Welcome back to my Baguio City Travel Vlog! 🌲❄️ In this second part of my trip, I’m taking you along on an exciting shopping spree at the world-famous Baguio Night Market! You might have heard of it as the Wagwagan Capital of the Philippines, and trust me, it’s as amazing as it sounds. 😍

This is the ultimate destination for vintage and secondhand finds, and if you're in the market for affordable jackets, you’re in for a treat! So grab your bags and let’s dive into my ukay-ukay haul. Spoiler alert: I scored some epic jackets for super cheap! 🧥🔥

What to Expect in This Vlog:

  • ✅ A massive ukay-ukay haul featuring the jackets I bought at the Baguio Night Market.
  • ✅ Shopping tips on how to find branded and high-quality secondhand clothes at bargain prices!
  • ✅ A deep dive into the history of ukay-ukay and why Baguio is the best place for thrift shopping in the Philippines!

What is Ukay-Ukay? 🤔

So, for those of you who are not familiar, ukay-ukay is the term for thrift shops in the Philippines. The word ukay literally means "to dig," and that’s exactly what you’re doing when you’re hunting for treasures in these secondhand stores. It’s like digging through a pile of amazing fashion finds, with items imported from North America and Europe.

The beauty of ukay-ukay is that you can score branded clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories—most of them in great condition—all at incredibly affordable prices. It’s no wonder Baguio has earned its title as the “Wagwagan Capital of the Philippines” (Wagwagan = where people sell secondhand goods). 😎

Where to Buy Affordable Ukay-Ukay? 🛍️

If you’re planning to hit up Baguio for a shopping trip, the Baguio Night Market is the place to go. Located at Burnham Park, along Harrison Road, the market opens every night from 9 PM to 2 AM. That’s right—shop ‘til you drop in the cool Baguio night air! 🏙️ The market is known for its wide selection of jackets, vintage clothes, and even streetwear at ridiculously cheap prices.

I was so excited to find a variety of jackets—some branded, some vintage—that fit perfectly into my style. And the best part? They were all at prices you won’t believe! Trust me, Baguio is a haven for thrift shopping, and I found items I would never have expected to get at such low prices.

Shopping Tips:

  1. Arrive early: The best pieces tend to get snapped up quickly, especially if you're eyeing branded items.
  2. Haggle: Don’t be afraid to bargain! It’s all part of the fun at the night market.
  3. Check for quality: Even though everything’s affordable, always inspect the clothes for wear and tear—sometimes the best items are hidden in piles!

So, if you’re ever in Baguio, I definitely recommend heading over to the Night Market. Not only will you find stylish jackets and clothes, but you’ll also be immersing yourself in the local culture of bargain hunting! 😄

Check out my full shopping experience and ukay-ukay haul in the video below! I’ve got some amazing finds to show you. Drop a comment if you’ve ever been to Baguio’s Night Market or if you’re planning to visit soon!

Baguio City transforms into a winter wonderland during the holiday season, and the Baguio Country Club Christmas Village is at the heart of this magical experience. Walking through the Christmas Village feels like stepping into a storybook. It’s a thrilling experience, especially for those who’ve never encountered snow before! Families and friends gather under the falling flakes, laughing, taking pictures, and cherishing the moment.

Beyond the snow, the Christmas Village offers plenty of attractions to explore. Staying just a 5-minute walk from Burnham Park, we headed out at 5:00 AM in nothing but sleeveless shirts, braving the brisk 15°C air. The short walk felt like an ice-cold adventure as the wind nipped at our skin. As we reached the park, the misty morning greeted us with joggers, bikers, and fellow early risers. Despite the cold, the serene beauty of Burnham Park at dawn was worth it—it was both a test of endurance and an exhilarating start to the day!

After conquering the challenge (and wrapping ourselves in jackets!), we set out for the lively Baguio City Market. Just a quick ride from Burnham, this market is a treasure trove of fresh and affordable produce. Rows of vibrant vegetables and fruits greeted us: from the sweetest strawberries to crunchy bell peppers and crisp lettuce. I couldn’t resist grabbing bundles of Sagada oranges and freshly harvested broccoli. The prices? Unbelievably low! Baguio City – Kung Jeon Korean Palace Restaurant is an “Eat All you Can” Buffet that operates daily from open from 10am to 9pm. It is famous for its unlimited Samgyupsal, among others. It is situated at 38 South Dr, Camp John Hay, Baguio, Benguet.

After grabbing a bite, you can also wear their Korean Traditional Costumes (hanbok) for free and do some poses for your social media. The good thing is you have your own vehicle, they offer a very spacious parking space surrounded by a beautiful ambiance amidst the trees. It’s a perfect place to relax and dine in after doing adventures around the area. If the parking inside is full, you can park along the road as it is allowed.

During lunchtime is their peak hour since it is one of the destinations for Korean food lovers. Even the place is crowded during that timeframe; tables are numerous enough to cater to the continuous incoming customers.

Pre-pandemic, their price was PHP399 but lately, they increase to PHP499 which is still okay for me because of the fresh lettuce being served unlimited. This is due to fact that Benguet Province is the major supplier of the country when it comes with produce, and one of those is lettuce.
