Tapsulit Pembo Branch review, Filipino food delivery Taguig, Kare Kare delivery Manila, BPI Rewards free food, Bangus Belly Spanish Style, best lumpia Shanghai delivery, Filipino comfort food online order

If you’ve been craving classic Filipino food, this is for you! Recently, I discovered that Tapsulit—a well-loved Filipino food franchise—opened a new branch in Pembo, Taguig (Block 190 Lot 1 Hudyat St. Taguig 1630). Naturally, as a curious foodie, I couldn’t resist ordering a feast via GrabFood.

To make it even more exciting, I redeemed my BPI Rewards points—so everything came FREE. Talk about a perfect treat!

Let me share what I ordered and my honest impressions of each dish:

🥘 Crispy Liempo Kare-Kare – PHP 239

Tapsulit Pembo Branch review, Filipino food delivery Taguig, Kare Kare delivery Manila, BPI Rewards free food, Bangus Belly Spanish Style, best lumpia Shanghai delivery, Filipino comfort food online order

This was the star of my order. The crispy liempo was perfectly golden, with a satisfying crunch on every bite. Underneath, the rich, creamy peanut sauce hugged tender vegetables, creating that authentic kare-kare flavor we all grew up loving. Pro tip: don’t skip the bagoong on the side—it elevates every spoonful!

🐟 Bangus Belly Spanish Style – PHP 169

A true surprise. This Bangus Belly was soaked in a flavorful Spanish-style oil with garlic and herbs. The fish was tender and flaky, not greasy. I loved how the subtle spices balanced the natural richness of the bangus. A must-try for seafood lovers.

🥟 Shanghai Rolls (Pork Lumpia) – PHP 199

Tapsulit Pembo Branch review, Filipino food delivery Taguig, Kare Kare delivery Manila, BPI Rewards free food, Bangus Belly Spanish Style, best lumpia Shanghai delivery, Filipino comfort food online order

I’m always excited about lumpia Shanghai, and these didn’t disappoint. They were packed with finely minced pork, carrots, and seasonings, rolled in a crispy wrapper. Dipping them in the sweet chili sauce made them even more addictive. Perfect merienda , pulutan or ulam!

🍲 Papaitang Baka – PHP 169

Tapsulit Pembo Branch review, Filipino food delivery Taguig, Kare Kare delivery Manila, BPI Rewards free food, Bangus Belly Spanish Style, best lumpia Shanghai delivery, Filipino comfort food online order

This is for those who enjoy classic Ilocano flavors. The Papaitang Baka had a hearty, slightly bitter broth that paired beautifully with tender beef cuts and innards. It’s definitely an acquired taste—but if you appreciate authentic regional dishes, you’ll love this one.

🍳 Luncheon Silog – PHP 119

Tapsulit Pembo Branch review, Filipino food delivery Taguig, Kare Kare delivery Manila, BPI Rewards free food, Bangus Belly Spanish Style, best lumpia Shanghai delivery, Filipino comfort food online order

Who doesn’t love silog? This plate came with a slice of savory luncheon meat, garlic fried rice, and a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg. Simple, nostalgic, and budget-friendly—ideal for a quick breakfast or anytime comfort food.

During one of my usual GrabFood scroll sessions, I stumbled upon Seoul Korean Chicken House, located at Paz Building, 705 Boni Ave., Mandaluyong City. I’ve heard good things about their Korean-Japanese fusion menu, so I figured—why not redeem my BPI points and treat myself?

Here’s what I ordered and my honest thoughts on each dish:

🍱 Chicken Katsudon – ₱200

Classic, comforting, and surprisingly authentic for a delivery order!

This dish features a crispy chicken cutlet topped with a soft egg and served over warm white rice. The sauce had that sweet and savory balance you’d expect from a good katsudon.

The chicken was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and it still held its texture even after delivery. This one hit the spot, especially for fans of Japanese comfort food.

🐙 Octobits Takoyaki (16 pcs) – ₱140

These bite-sized takoyaki balls were a fun surprise.

They were filled with tiny octopus bits, topped with bonito flakes, mayo, and that signature takoyaki sauce. I love that they served it in generous portions—16 pieces, perfect for sharing (or not!).

The flavor was on point—not too doughy, with a nice chewy center and crisp outer layer. Great for snacking while binge-watching your favorite K-dramas!

✅ Verdict: Delightful and addictive. If you love takoyaki, this is a must-try!

🍗 12 pcs Korean Wings – ₱410 (Premium Honey Butter )

Now this was the showstopper!

I ordered the Premium Honey Butter , and both flavors were absolutely mouthwatering.

The honey butter had that sweet, creamy flavor that coated each wing without being overly sticky. Meanwhile, the Louisiana BBQ was tangy, slightly spicy, and rich in flavor—think smoky with a kick!

These wings were crispy, juicy, and saucy, just the way Korean fried chicken should be.

FREE FOOD Using BPI Rewards! 😋 | GrabFood x Best Friends, Boni Ave. Mandaluyong 🇵🇭

Can you really enjoy your favorite Filipino comfort food without spending a single peso? The answer is a big YES—thanks to my unused BPI Rewards points, I was able to redeem delicious Pinoy dishes from Best Friends Diner along Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong, all delivered conveniently via GrabFood. free food using BPI rewards,BPI rewards redemption 2025,how to redeem BPI rewards for food,GrabFood BPI promo,Best Friends restaurant Mandaluyong, free GrabFood with credit card points,Filipino comfort food review, sinigang na baboy review,Mandaluyong food vlog,BPI credit card perks, daing na bangus Filipino food, fried chicken Pinoy style, top Filipino dishes GrabFood, food vlog Philippines, best Pinoy food delivery,BPI rewards 2025 guide, how to use BPI points

I was honestly just looking for something warm and comforting after a stressful workweek—and this experience turned out to be so much more than just a free meal. It brought back nostalgic feelings of home, of being welcomed by a home-cooked meal from someone who cares. Think: “Luto ni Lola” vibes in every bite. 🥹💖

  🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:
Here’s a rundown of what I ordered and my honest review of each:

🍲 Sinigang na Baboy – ₱319

This was the true highlight of my meal. Priced reasonably at ₱319, I’d say this serving is good for at least three to four people.

The broth had that perfectly balanced asim-tamis flavor, with a slightly oily finish that I actually found comforting—it felt rich and indulgent. After a long, draining day, that first sip of the sabaw honestly melted my stress away.

The pork used in the Sinigang was liempo, layered with skin, fat, and tender meat, which made each bite incredibly satisfying. It was soft, melt-in-the-mouth, and clearly boiled to perfection. The vegetables were generously added too: kangkong (water spinach), eggplant, okra, and even some Chinese cabbage, giving the dish a nice earthy texture.

✅ VERDICT: A bowl of pure comfort. Perfect whether you're coming home from work or nursing a hangover. A must-try!

🍗 Whole Fried Chicken – ₱552

Next up is the Whole Fried Chicken, and let me just say—this isn’t your typical fried chicken. I asked them to have it pre-cut into bite-sized pieces, and it arrived hot and ready to eat.

The aroma when I opened the container immediately caught my attention—it smelled like it had been infused with lemongrass, star anise, and what I think might be banana blossoms. Very aromatic and uniquely Filipino.

free food using BPI rewards,BPI rewards redemption 2025,how to redeem BPI rewards for food,GrabFood BPI promo,Best Friends restaurant Mandaluyong, free GrabFood with credit card points,Filipino comfort food review, sinigang na baboy review,Mandaluyong food vlog,BPI credit card perks, daing na bangus Filipino food, fried chicken Pinoy style, top Filipino dishes GrabFood, food vlog Philippines, best Pinoy food delivery,BPI rewards 2025 guide, how to use BPI points

It tasted like the chicken was first boiled or steamed, then deep-fried, which gave it a crispy skin without the excess oil. The meat inside was tender and juicy, and every bite was packed with flavor—not bland or over-fried.

✅ VERDICT: Flavorful, fragrant, and thoughtfully prepared. Worth the price for a whole chicken that feels festive and comforting.

🐟 Daing na Bangus – ₱138

To complete the meal, I added Daing na Bangus to the order. At ₱138, this was a budget-friendly addition that made the meal feel even more traditional.

free food using BPI rewards,BPI rewards redemption 2025,how to redeem BPI rewards for food,GrabFood BPI promo,Best Friends restaurant Mandaluyong, free GrabFood with credit card points,Filipino comfort food review, sinigang na baboy review,Mandaluyong food vlog,BPI credit card perks, daing na bangus Filipino food, fried chicken Pinoy style, top Filipino dishes GrabFood, food vlog Philippines, best Pinoy food delivery,BPI rewards 2025 guide, how to use BPI points

The bangus was crispy on the outside, flavorful, and didn’t taste overly oily or salty. Just the way I like it—simple and very nostalgic. It reminded me of breakfasts at home during weekends growing up.

✅ VERDICT: Great value, great flavor. Simple but definitely soul-satisfying.

🏠 The Overall Experience: Food That Feels Like Home

Eating these dishes from Best Friends Diner was like stepping back into my childhood home. It reminded me of times when my grandmother would cook us hearty meals, the type that warms not just your stomach, but your soul.

If you’re like me and need a little break from the chaos of life—this kind of food brings comfort in a way no fast-food combo meal ever could. It’s perfect for when you’re stressed, tired, or just missing home.

And the best part? It didn’t cost me a thing.
I simply redeemed my BPI Rewards points through GrabFood, and boom—free delivery, free comfort food, and a heart full of warmth.

🌭 RECEIVED RELIEF GOODS + TIPS TO UPGRADE ORDINARY LONGGANISA | Life During Lockdown

The lockdown due to the pandemic brought so many challenges, but it also opened up opportunities to reflect, adapt, and create. Today, I’m sharing a slice of my life during those tough times through this blog inspired by my vlog titled "Received Relief Goods + Tips to Upgrade Ordinary Longganisa". It’s a mix of gratitude, creativity, and a dash of culinary innovation—let’s dive in! **SEO Tags and Keywords:**

💼 Relief Goods from Mandaluyong City

When the pandemic hit, many of us found ourselves in a whirlwind of uncertainty. I never thought I’d receive relief goods, thinking that the middle class was ineligible. However, our City Mayor of Mandaluyong reminded us that everyone, regardless of social status, felt the impact of this crisis. And yes, as taxpayers, we, too, deserved assistance.

When the relief goods arrived, I did a sit-down video to show you all the contents: rice, canned goods, instant noodles, and even some basic hygiene supplies. Unpacking those items made me emotional as I realized how the pandemic united us in shared struggles. It didn’t matter if you were wealthy, middle class, or struggling financially—everyone was affected in some way.

The act of receiving help during such a trying time taught me humility and gratitude. It reminded me that even small gestures of kindness could mean the world to someone.

🍴 Longganisa Transformation: From Ordinary to Extraordinary

The second part of my vlog focused on turning an ordinary sausage—our beloved Longganisa—into a special meal. If you’re tired of frying it the usual way, this recipe is a game-changer.

Here’s how I did it:

  • Boil First: Instead of frying right away, I boiled the Longganisa to cook it evenly. After boiling, I discarded the first water to remove excess grease.
  • Second Boil: I added fresh water and let it boil until the water evaporated. This method brings out the natural oil from the Longganisa.
  • Flavor Boost: To elevate the flavor, I added a pinch of powdered pepper, chopped garlic, and diced potatoes.
  • A Sweet Twist: Here’s the secret ingredient—pineapple juice! It adds a subtle sweetness that pairs beautifully with the savory sausage. Simmer until the sauce thickens to your liking.
  • Finish with Butter: Just before serving, I stirred in a small amount of butter. This adds a rich aroma and enhances the overall taste.
The result? A sweet-savory Longganisa dish with natural sauce, perfect for pairing with steaming white rice. It’s a simple yet satisfying upgrade to a classic Filipino breakfast favorite!

🌟 Life During Lockdown

Lockdown life wasn’t easy, but it brought valuable lessons. I learned to appreciate the little things, like a good meal or a kind gesture. Cooking became a therapeutic activity and a way to reconnect with Filipino traditions. Sharing my experiences through my #ECQDiaries vlog series also helped me feel connected to all of you, my Tansyong Lovers, during such isolating times. As we move forward, let’s not forget the resilience we’ve shown and the lessons we’ve learned. Whether it’s through sharing a meal, receiving help, or simply staying hopeful, every little thing counts.

In today’s culinary showdown, I’m putting two popular frying methods to the ultimate test: traditional oil frying in a pan and modern air frying in an air fryer. The goal? To find out which method delivers the perfect fried fish that’s crispy, delicious, and (hopefully) healthier! Using the same type of fish and seasoning, I walked through each method step-by-step, highlighting the process, convenience, and overall experience of cooking.

Once the frying was done, it was time for the real test: taste and texture. The oil-fried fish had its signature crunch and rich flavor, but the air-fried fish offered a surprising crispness with far less oil. Which one came out on top? Watch as I break down the pros and cons of each method and share my verdict. If you’re curious about stepping up your fish-frying game or just want to know which method might work best for you, this episode is a must-watch! 🎥🍴🐟

In the vibrant neighborhood of Xavierville Avenue, Quezon City, there once stood a lively food park known as The Yard Xavierville. This place wasn't just a food hub; it was a melting pot of flavors, creativity, and camaraderie. Located at 83 Xavierville Ave, Quezon City, The Yard was a haven for foodies seeking diverse and affordable gastronomical delights. Although it officially closed its doors in December 2024, it left behind unforgettable memories for those who had the chance to experience its magic.

A Culinary Wonderland

The Yard was no ordinary food park. It was a bustling venue filled with colorful stalls offering a wide range of cuisines—from Korean barbecue to Filipino street food, gourmet burgers, Japanese sushi, and even quirky dessert options like nitrogen ice cream. Each stall had its unique aesthetic, drawing you in with vibrant lights, creative signage, and mouthwatering aromas.

The food wasn’t just about taste—it was an experience. Whether it was a sizzling plate of Samgyupsal, a towering burger stack, or a meticulously crafted sushi roll, The Yard had something to cater to every craving.

Our Experience at The Yard

We visited The Yard Xavierville as a barkada (group of friends), and the experience was nothing short of epic. Alongside my close friends, Jaymie Lee and Mikki Labastida, we set out to indulge in the diverse offerings of this iconic food park.

The energy of The Yard was palpable. The mix of live music, the laughter of patrons, and the lively chatter from the stalls created an electric atmosphere. As we walked around, it was hard to decide where to start. Eventually, we opted for a little bit of everything:

  • Korean BBQ: We couldn’t resist the aroma of sizzling Samgyupsal. The perfectly marinated meat paired with kimchi and unlimited sides was heavenly.
  • Street Tacos: A blend of smoky, spicy, and tangy flavors exploded in our mouths with every bite.
  • Milkshakes and Desserts: For dessert, we tried some towering milkshakes topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, and cookies. It was indulgence at its finest.

We spent hours sharing stories, laughing, and savoring every bite. The Yard wasn’t just a place to eat—it was a venue to create memories.

Getting There

For those unfamiliar with the area, getting to The Yard Xavierville was fairly straightforward:

Breakfast Delight: How My Friend Jackie Cooked Sauteed Ampalaya with a Gourmet Bulad Twist at Casa Hills Antipolo

If you're a fan of Filipino breakfast dishes, then you’ll love this simple yet delicious recipe for Sauteed Ampalaya (bitter melon). During our recent staycation at Casa Hills Antipolo, my friend Jackie was assigned to cook breakfast, and she whipped up an unforgettable dish that we couldn’t wait to share with you.

In this vlog, we woke up early to capture every moment of Jackie cooking her signature version of Sauteed Ampalaya with a twist! Not only did she prepare this classic Filipino breakfast, but she also added a surprising touch—gourmet bulad (dried fish)—to elevate the flavor and give it an exciting, savory punch.

🎥 WATCH THE VLOG:

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Sauteed Ampalaya is one of those dishes that perfectly balances the bitterness of the ampalaya with the savory flavors of garlic, onions, and tomatoes. It’s a popular comfort food among Filipinos, and when done right, it’s absolutely delicious! But Jackie took it to the next level by incorporating gourmet bulad, which brought a whole new depth of flavor to the dish.

What You’ll Need for Sauteed Ampalaya with Gourmet Bulad

  • 2 medium-sized ampalaya (bitter melon)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped
  • 1-2 eggs (optional)
  • A pinch of gourmet bulad (dried fish), crumbled or cut into pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for sautéing

How Jackie Cooked Sauteed Ampalaya

  • Prep the Ingredients: Jackie started by slicing the ampalaya into thin rounds and salting them lightly to reduce their bitterness. She set them aside for about 10 minutes before rinsing them off.
  • Saute the Aromatics: In a hot pan, Jackie added a bit of oil, then sautéed the garlic, onions, and tomatoes until fragrant and softened. The aroma of the sautéed garlic and onions filled the kitchen—just the perfect start to any breakfast!
  • Add the Ampalaya: After the aromatics were nicely softened, Jackie added the ampalaya to the pan and cooked them on medium heat. She stirred frequently to ensure that the ampalaya absorbed all the savory flavors from the garlic, onion, and tomato mixture.
  • Add  an Egg (Optional): For an added touch of richness, Jackie cracked an egg into the pan and stirred it in with the ampalaya and bulad. The egg added a creamy texture that complemented the dish beautifully.
  • The Twist—Gourmet Bulad: To make this dish even more exciting, Jackie added the gourmet bulad. This special dried fish variety brought an incredible umami flavor to the dish. The slightly salty, savory taste of the bulad balanced the bitterness of the ampalaya, giving the dish an unforgettable depth of flavor.
  • Season and Serve: Once the dish was cooked to perfection, Jackie seasoned it with salt and pepper to taste, ensuring everything was perfectly balanced. She served it hot, with fried  rice on the side for a filling and satisfying breakfast.

Why You Should Try This Recipe

This dish is not only easy to make but also incredibly healthy and packed with flavor. Sauteed Ampalaya is known for its many health benefits, including helping lower blood sugar levels and boosting your immune system. By adding gourmet bulad, Jackie added a protein boost that made the dish even more delicious and filling.

If you're looking for a unique twist on a classic Filipino breakfast, this is definitely the recipe to try! It’s perfect for family breakfasts, staycations, or even when you want to impress your friends with something different. And of course, this dish can easily be adjusted to suit your taste—whether you want it spicier or with more bulad!

This added a layer of excitement and joy, filling the air with laughter. Golden Sunshine Corned Beef and Potatoes

The food at Banapple did not disappoint, living up to its reputation for serving hearty and flavorful dishes. My friends ordered a variety of menu items, including the Hickory Smoked Barbequed Country Ribs, which were tender and bursting with smoky flavors, and the Bacon Fried Chicken Steaks with Milk’shroom Gravy, a crowd favorite with its crispy chicken and creamy gravy topped with bacon bits. For dessert, the Banoffee Pie stood out with its sweet banana and toffee filling, buttery crust, and whipped cream topping.

I personally tried the Golden Sunshine Corned Beef and Potatoes, and it was a delightful dish that hit all the right notes. The corned beef was shredded to perfection, paired with diced potatoes and caramelized onions, and served with seasoned rice and sunny-side-up eggs. The flavors were well-balanced and comforting—perfect for a festive breakfast. Price-wise, Banapple offers good value for money, with dishes ranging from ₱200 to ₱400, which is reasonable considering the generous portions and quality of food.

The Star of the Show: 8-Inch Pepperoni Pizza

I ordered their 8-inch pepperoni pizza, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite!

  • The Dough: Soft and spongy, reminiscent of a New York-style pizza crust. It had the same pillowy texture you’d find in an S&R pizza, yet it was distinct in its flavor and freshness.
  • The Pepperoni: Generously layered, each slice was rich and flavorful, adding a delightful spice that balanced perfectly with the gooey mozzarella.
  • The Brick Oven Touch: Cooking the pizza in a traditional brick oven gave it a slight smokiness and crispy edges, elevating the overall experience.

The 8-inch size might be enough for two, but I enjoyed it all by myself—it was simply that good!

Pabs Table’s menu extends beyond pizza, offering a variety of Italian and American dishes. Whether you’re in the mood for pasta, pastries, or other comfort foods, this place has something to satisfy your cravings.

The Star of the Show: Green Carabao Mango

The green carabao mango, known as Manggang Kalabaw, is a Filipino favorite. These unripe mangoes are famous for their sharp tanginess, making them an ideal partner for salty dips like shrimp paste or rock salt. For this mukbang, I chose perfectly firm and vibrant green mangoes—each slice a promise of a mouth-puckering burst of flavor. As I took the first bite, the sourness washed over me, creating an intense yet incredibly satisfying experience. I savored every bite, embracing the sharp tanginess with pure enjoyment.

The Perfect Pair: Sautéed Shrimp Paste

What’s green mango without its faithful companion, bagoong alamang? The sautéed shrimp paste I prepared was rich, slightly sweet, and savory with a hint of spice. It’s a condiment that carries the essence of Filipino culinary heritage. The process of dipping each mango slice into the warm shrimp paste and taking a bite was nothing short of divine. The flavors complemented each other perfectly, creating a harmony of sour, salty, and umami that left me craving for more with each bite.

Mukbang Moments: Relishing Every Bite

As I filmed the mukbang, I found myself completely immersed in the flavors. The intense sourness didn’t make me laugh—it made me savor and enjoy the moment even more. Each bite was a delightful challenge to my taste buds, and I couldn’t get enough of the nostalgic blend of green mango and shrimp paste. Sharing this culinary journey with my audience was a rewarding experience, showcasing the beauty of simple yet iconic Filipino food.
