After 15 years, I finally returned to the place that shaped who I am today—San Isidro, Bohol—to participate in the 2nd Grand Alumni Homecoming on May 11 and 12, 2017. This emotional trip down memory lane allowed me to reconnect with familiar faces and revisit the streets  and school,  where I grew up and studied. Walking through my childhood neighborhood was a powerful reminder of how quickly time passes and how much life can change. I was overwhelmed with nostalgia as I reminisced about the memories that defined my youth, from school days to family gatherings.

A Spooktacular Success: Halloween Costume & Movie Marathon 2024 at Urban Deca Tower EDSA.

 Halloween 2024 was an unforgettable experience at Urban Deca Tower! Filled with costumes, laughter, and plenty of spooky fun, our community’s Halloween Costume & Movie Marathon event brought residents together for a night of celebration and connection. Hosted by the Property Management Office, the event turned out to be a huge success, giving everyone a chance to relax, socialize, and embrace the Halloween spirit. Here's a look back at the night’s highlights, all captured in my vlog!

Creativity on Display: The Costume Contest 🎭

The evening kicked off with a fantastic costume contest for our young residents, ages 3 to 12. From adorable witches to fierce superheroes, the kids truly went all out, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm. Parents and children put an incredible amount of effort into their costumes, and the results were nothing short of spectacular. Judging was based on relevance to the Halloween theme, movie portrayal, and creativity, making the competition fierce but fun. The smiles and cheers in the room as each child took the stage made it clear that everyone was already a winner.

Exciting Prizes and Heartwarming Celebrations 🏆

After some tough decision-making, the judges awarded the top three costumes with cash prizes and certificates. The “Best in Costume” winner took home 500 pesos, along with a certificate and a special loot bag, while two runners-up each received 200 pesos and their own treats. Seeing the joy and excitement on the kids' faces as they received their prizes was the highlight of the night. Each participant left with a smile and a feeling of accomplishment, and the support from family and friends in the audience made it a heartwarming celebration for everyone involved.

Cozy Movie Marathon: A Perfect Halloween Night 🎥🍿

As the awards wrapped up, it was time to settle in for a cozy movie marathon. Weekend chills and thrills were in full swing as I joined my neighbors with snacks, drinks, and a comfy pillow to enjoy some horror classics. Watching spooky films in the company of fellow residents added a fun and communal vibe to the night. The room filled with laughter, gasps, and the occasional scream as we enjoyed Halloween favorites. It was the perfect way to wind down, and there was something special about sharing those Halloween chills with such good company.

The "Newspaper of My Life": College Memories and Decluttering | Weekend Vlog

 In this weekend vlog, I'm excited to share something close to my heart: my collection of articles from "The Pillar Publication," the university newspaper of the University of Rizal System Binangonan. These articles are snapshots of my college life, a time when I began as a junior writer and grew to be the editor of the literary section. These overripe bananas are actually perfect for making delicious Filipino treats like Turon and Pinaypay. In this episode of my #CookingVlog, I’ll show you how to transform these nearly spoiled bananas into crispy, sweet snacks that are ideal for any day. Not only is this a tasty way to save food, but it also aligns with my micro-living goals of reducing waste and using ingredients we already have on hand. So, will these treats be a success or a flop? The great thing about Turon and Pinaypay is that they’re simple to make and require very few ingredients. For Turon, we’ll be wrapping banana slices in spring roll wrappers, sprinkling a bit of brown sugar on them, and frying until they’re golden brown and crispy. Pinaypay, on the other hand, involves slicing the bananas and fanning them out before frying, creating a beautiful, fan-like shape. Both snacks are sweet, crunchy, and give those overripe bananas a new, delicious life. These traditional Filipino snacks are perfect for anyone who loves bananas and wants to try something different with their fruit!

Making Turon and Pinaypay isn’t just about enjoying delicious food; it’s also about embracing the principles of micro-living. By using ingredients that might otherwise be thrown away, we’re practicing sustainability in a small but meaningful way.
