🍔 B&B: Burgers and Brewskies at Capitol Commons, Pasig City Review

RATING: ⭐

FOODS ( We opted their best-seller)

"Call the Nurse"
Price PHP280

Spiced mustard aioli, B and B cheese sauce, 1 layer of seared Mac and Cheese, and H3 strips of honey Sriracha Bacon

Michael Dantes was able to eat the whole burger. "Call the nurse" is the small version of "Call the ER (1/3 of beef Patty, 2 layers of Mac and Cheese, for strips of Sriracha Bacon) ".

"Flipped"
Price 215
Spiced mustard aioli, B&B cheese sause, roasted tomatoes and fried onion strings.
With its price Php 215 , Jay-ar De Vera was not able to consume the whole burger.

" Masarap naman , kaso busog lang talaga ako" he said. Then he just took out the "half" of it. "Nakakaumay kasi", he added.

The appearance of the burger looks like good yet the fried union is too many and it overpowers the patty and the cheese.

Neat
Price :Php 250
Roasted garlic aioli , cheese sauce, and onion confit

Miss Fritzie removed the toppings which is the onion confit.

"It is not advisable to put onions  on the top  " she said. She just consumed 1/4 of it. She said that onion if not her preference .

Kandi
PHP :php 265

Roasted Garlic aioli, Cheese sauce, onion confit and spiced candied Bacon

I really like the candied bacon , the sweetness of the bacon gave a balance taste of the whole burger.  Candied bacon is caramelized solidly and in every bite of the burger - there is a crispiness when you masticate.

"I suggest you guys to buy this"

Chicharon Bacon
Price:250
Freshly brined thin slices of Pork belly, dusted with starch and fried crispy. Served with a sweet spicy vinegar dip.

This is advisable past time while you are waiting for your order. For 250 - its not worth it, the taste is too common , as common as street foods.

Accessibility.

B&B: Burger and Brewskies is situated at Capitol Commons , Pasig City which is 10 mins ride from Pioneer St. ( if the street is not congested).

Thou the place is a few kilometres away from the MRT station, the accessibility of the area could sometimes be a bit difficult specially if your not familiar with the place.

From North EDSA, you can either ride the MRT going to South or BUS ride which stops and/or passes Shaw Boulevard/Crossing Ibabaw. If your riding the MRT, go down at Shaw Boulevard Station. Ride a Jeep with a signage “Pasig Palengke” or “San Joaquin”  at the terminal located at the side of WCC infront of Starmall EDSA, Shaw Boulevard. Go down at “Kapitolyo Circle”, Capitol Commons is located at the left side,

Landmarks: Circle, near Ynares Sports Center

Ambiance
  • Design : Very westernized indoor design.
  • Ventilation : Superb.
  • Music : Playlist is acceptable but not latest.
  • Service : total price is subject of 10 percent service fee.

Instead of using buckets for the ice, their tables are customized - intended for beers and drinks. What a clever idea.

Cleanliness

It is essential in every food establishment . And so, I checked the wash room. It is clean so far.

Team Lamon ( Foods courtesy of Ralph Fernandez)

(Sitting from left to right) Jay-ar De Vera, Michael Santos,

What I love about this establishment is their 1/3 lb 100 percent U.S. beef patties which made fresh everyday and cooked medium to preserve its tenderness and distinct flavor.

Bluer than Blue

Blue is one of my favorite color. It is very visually cool and it gives us the relaxing approach. Blue is the colour between violet and green on the optical spectrum of visible light.

And so today, I will be wearing a blue approach simple get up. With sky blue collared polo shirt on my top, dark blue jeans and royal blue boots. I added with a black fabric made shoulder bag to balance the lightness of the entire combination

I opted to wear such mixes of get up which create relaxing hue. Moreover, the simplicity of jeans and polo shirt should be balanced – not too striking and advisable for your daily outfit especially this summer to avoid the heat of the sun that will result in too much perspiration.

Office Day with Simplicity Bang!

Today, I wore violet polo shirt from Onesimus. It has been consistent in pursuing its passion to blend in one men's shop the staple men's apparel of the West like suits and shirts,

I partnered it with a grey chino pants to balance the darkness hue of my upper outfit.

It is perfect also for office workers – who spend their entire day in a very cold air-conditioned room  – to wear a jacket. So I also opted my limited jacket from “Surplus Botique “ in Sm Megamall.

And my pair shoes are brown from Wade.  Undeniably, the lavish gold watch (Michael Kors) will also add the details of overall outfit.

Mohawk Hairstyle and Undercut Hairstyle

I felt boredom with my hairstyle for almost four months now. First, I started to choose undercut style because it was trending among men that time (four months ago.). However, after a few months went by and it seemed that my hair is getting longer. And the only part that my stylist maintains was the sides of my head only. Furthermore, it is no longer pleasant. So I decided to change it into Mohawk just now. The mohawk or mohican is a hairstyle in which, in the most common variety, both sides of the head are shaven, leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the center. The Mohawk is also sometimes referred to as an iro in reference to the Iroquois, from whom the hairstyle is inspired- though historically the hair was plucked out rather than shaved. Meanwhile, undercut is a hairstyle in which the sides and back are shaved and long hair is grown at the top of the head. Undercut is more casual compared to Mohawk. No matter, what hairstyle you’re going to prefer. What matters most is that you are comfortable of it. Honestly, it is just a matter of how you project it to the public. There’s no need to get-in on what is trending. All you need is that you are confident enough to wear your hairstyle.

Rak is Back

MANILA, Philippines – It’s been a fruitful 47th theater season for the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA); and while the theater is ablaze with the ongoing Summer Program, the company shows no signs of stopping for a breather.

PETA’s 48th season sees the comeback of crowd favorite and hit comedy musical Rak of Aegis. Fans and first-timers are expected to flood the theater for this record-breaking hit that is set to open this June, due to insistent public demand.

Breakout Kapuso star Aicelle Santos, and 2009 WCOPA Champion Kim Molina come back as Aileen; the promodizer with big dreams to raise her family from the knee-deep floods that have plagued their town for months. This all-Filipino, all-original musical features songs from the iconic band Aegis, with a star-studded ensemble on an award winning, must-see set.

This comedy musical has hit a record-breaking 135 shows in the first year of its showing alone, a milestone for the theater company and indeed, for Philippine theater. In 2014 alone it has garnered over 16 citations for performance and technical categories including Outstanding Original Musical, Outstanding Ensemble Performance for a Musical, Stage Direction for a Musical (Maribel Legarda), Original Libretto (Liza Magtoto), Musical Direction (Myke Salomon), Choreography (Gio Gahol), Costume Design (Carlo Pagunaling), Sound Design (Salomon and Happy Constantino), Set Design (Mio Infante), Female Lead Performance in a Musical (Aicelle Santos and Joan Bugcat), Female Featured Performance in a Musical (Kalila Aguilos) and Male Featured Performance in a Musical (Myke Salomon, Pepe Herrera, Jerald Napoles and Juliene Mendoza)

The cast of Rak has also enjoyed several new projects in between runs: Poppert Bernadas who plays Aileen’s suitor Kenny was recently seen in The Voice Philippines, while Pepe Herrera (Tolits) enjoys a stint in the romcom TV series, Forevermore. Singer Kim Molina also breaks into the theater scene with production after production, most recently in the upcoming Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady by Dalanghita Productions.

This run also welcomes many new neighbors to Barangay Venizia. Actor and singer Lorenz Martinez plays Aileen’s father Kiel, opposite Lani Ligot (Priscilla Queen of the Dessert; Broad Way, Narrow Way) who plays Mercy, Aileen’s mother; The Company’s Sweet Plantado also joins the cast as Mary Jane. The ensemble is joined by PETA artist-teacher Roi Calilong (D’ Wonder Twins of Boac, PAMANA), and Teetin Villanueva (MANHID, Maxie the Musical).

The cast also sees the return of talented ensemble members made up of Stella Mendoza (Mary Jane), Kakai Bautista and Neomi Gonzales (Mercy), Jerald Napoles (Tolits), Myke Salomon (Kenny), Nor Domingo, Julienne Mendoza, and Gie Onida (Fernan), Phi Palmos, Ron Alfonso, and Jimmy Marquez (Jewel), Gimbey dela Cruz, Abi Sulit, Gab Pangilinan, Jet Barrun, Gio Gahol, Carlon Matobato, John Moran, Paeng Sudayan, and Kakki Teodoro (Ensemble).

The play runs from June 17 to August 16 from Tuesdays to Fridays (8PM) and Saturdays to Sundays (3:00pm and 8:00pm) at the PETA Theater Center located at No. 5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, QC. Tickets are available via www.ticketworld.com.ph, 891-9999. For more information contact PETA at 725-6244 or 0917-5765400, petatheater@gmail.com or visit www.petatheater.com.
