Facebook reached 1.11 billion users in the world as of May 2, 2013. The Philippines is currently ranked 8th for the most number of users worldwide.  88.96 Percent of its total netizens are Facebook users. Because of its pioneering easy-sharing feature, Filipinos spent most of the time going online to check updates from their friends and family.  From any Ages , economic status and etc, Filipinos are really hooked up with facebook.

Filipinos use Facebook to connect to our friends, family and love ones. It gives us freedom; it gives us an opportunity to post everything we want. It has been part of our daily lives; from posting messages, uploading pictures, uploading videos and playing online games. However, freedom comes with responsibility and we cannot simply post everything without considering the people who could read those messages. Posting offensive messages may become a reason for them to unfriend or block you.

Here are the possible reasons why your friends unfriend/block you on Facebook.


1.) Too opinionated – It’s annoying if you post your opinions about everything. Imagine posting an idea, then suddenly one of your friends make a comment then ends up with a heated argument. FYI, this is not a debate and we don’t care if you are a member of the debating team of your school.

2.) Too much bragging – We understand that you are a graduate of an exclusive school, you work as an executive in your company, you can afford to travel abroad every month, you can afford to buy expensive things (LV, Chanel, Hermes etc.). Too much post like these makes us feel how poor we are (;( Sob! ).

3.) Too Much Info – Yes, too much info can sometimes be annoying. I don’t understand why people post where they are, where they eat, what time they wake up, what they are wearing right now on a daily basis.

4.) Trigger happy – What I mean is those persons who do not post messages but instead clicking “like” on everyone’s post and pictures. Isn’t that annoying?

5.) Poking – I hate when someone poke me on Facebook. Just like in real life no one wants to be poked.

6.) Public Display of Affection – It’s cool to see couples post their pictures and post sweet messages to each other but too much of that can do some harm. This is true especially on breakup scenarios. You don’t want arguments from your boyfriend/girlfriend to be read by someone else right? So as a tip keep those messages private; send him/her a personal message instead.

7.) Hash tags – This is a new feature on Facebook, so just like tweeter we can now use hash tags on Facebook as well. From my observation, this is becoming the most abused feature on Facebook. Imagine one of my friends posted Good Morning! #cupofcoffee #sunshine #feelinglucky #backtowork #breakfast #gym. One word – HILARIOUS!

8.) Tagging Ugly Pictures – Imagine your friend uploading your group picture from the Party you attended last night. You look at the picture and you’ll see how gorgeous she is in her black gown, but when you take a closer look at the picture you will see that you and your other friends are not looking at the camera your hair is a mess and you all look like her personal assistant.

9.) The boy who cried wolf – Do not lie! If you post messages or pictures all of your friends can see/read it. I remember a Colleague who called in sick. She was absent for a week but when you check her Facebook status you can clearly see pictures from her trip to Boracay. Worst of all you can see her riding in a banana boat.

10.)  Game request – Everyone would agree that it is annoying to see notifications coming from friends inviting you to try a new game. They send you tons of gift request and these notifications are flooding your wall every day.


Truly, Filipinos are now electronically connected to the World of no Boundaries. Our knowledge is value-laden to sign up and use the benefits of social networks. By that, I must say that I am proud being a Filipino because in any aspect of Technological concern we are competitive. Not only that, Filipinos are great Blogger and I am thankful that I am one of guest writers who have a chance to write in this blog.

UNO! Yes, that is right, Not just DOS or TRES but UNO. Uno means number one, personally, the number one way for me to relieve my stress from the entire week of working is to go out for weekend unwinding. Maybe Traveling out of town, but now since I already had a Travel Schedule for this month of September, the allocation of my budget was already prepared therefore if I have another place to go, it would be better I choose the affordable and near one.

June 14, 2014. When I was at 24th Manila International Book Fair to Attend a Bloggers Seminars My Gym mates called me inviting me for Night out. So right after the said event, I went home, rest for a moment, and prepared for clubbing. We decided to go to Uno Pizzeria.

Uno Pizzeria is a Resto-Bar at San Miguel by the Bay, SM Mall of Asia Seaside Blvd, Bay City, Pasay City, Philippines. The Exact location of the Bar is easy to locate because that is situated right at the back of SM Mall of Asia.

UNO Pizzeria is a great spot to unwind. With its newly expanded 650-sqm dining place that can seat up to 400 guests, the restaurant bar can now accommodate corporate events and parties. Its bigger waterfront dining creates a perfect perch for those who like to stay outdoors and chat over the wide selection of food and drinks. The Best thing about this Restobar aside from its delicious menus is the two separate setups of the place. The Inside and the outside set up. Inside, you will enjoy the all-night-long techno music that will surely make you groove. The DJ is great; he really captured the attention of the Mob using his mixes of music with R&B style. The Lights inside are in the proportion to the bass of the music. While Outside, is the live performing band entertaining the guests. You can request any songs and the band will do their own rendition that surely the entire listener will enjoy a lot.  Simultaneously, the two setups are operating, you just need to choose which one you preferred. You enjoy inside dancing with DJ or outside with live band.

Just a heads up, Uno Pizzeria doesn’t have a drink Promo on Saturday due to its numerous guests. You will spend a lot of money every Saturday due to the demand. Also, if you go on Saturday make sure you’ll get early or else you’ll wait for a vacant table

Overall. I enjoy myself a lot with my Gym mates. It was another great bonding experience since that was the second time we went out after our First Night out in Tala Bar. Great!

The Scenario During the 4rth Day

Biggest Book Fair in the Philippines of year 2013 was literally big. Five days of book trade and daily schedule activities that surely you missed or should I say you enjoyed. It was really tremendously huge book fair I ever attended. With over hundreds of Publishing Companies were able to participate, School Supplies Merchant, popular individuals and institutions/organizations.

The said book fair was organized with Primetrade Asia Inc., Since 1990, Primetrade Asia, Inc. has been at the forefront of the Philippine events industry, organizing and managing major exhibitions, international and national trade fairs, conferences, concerts, and corporate events for a diverse range of clients, including government organizations, professional associations, and major corporations. Therefore the said event was really organized since the event’s organizer combined experience in the field with over 40 years.

The Partner Organizations of the event were Book Development Association of the Philippines (BDAP). Philippine Booksellers Association, Inc (PBAI), Overseas Publishers’ Representatives Association of the Philippines (OPRAP), Asian Catholic Communicators’ Inc (ACCI). With the connivance of four Organizations, there is no way that the event failed.

In the same manner, the Media Partners of the event which play a big role in press and media releases were GMA7, Business World, Business Mirror, Manila Bulletin, The Philippine Star , Crossover 105.1 manila, DZBB 594 Super Radyo, 702 DZAS, Veritas864, Mellow 94.7, St. Pauls and Word and Life Publications.

Truly, the trade for school materials, equipment and facilities are signs that Philippines literacy is now improving. Words without borders were shared not only to the buyers but also to the children.

The Best of anime 2013 was also part of the event September 14 and 15, 2013 at Function Rooms 3 and 4. Numerous Anime Cosplayer were joining and roaming around the SMX for picture taking.

After I attended the Blog forum/Seminar, I went ahead downstairs and I witnessed personally, the exaggerated number of visitors from different ages in the event. To the point that I had a hard time to look for a travel book, I felt dizzy looking at the people so I decided to move around, took some pictures and went home early.

It’s another event I witnessed; I went home with heavy traffic and it was raining. But I didn’t regret because the whole experience was great.

Eating with your bare hands; unethical or part of Philippine Culture?

How do you enjoy your favorite food? Do you use spoon and fork or perhaps chopsticks like the Chinese does? Have you ever tried to eat with your bare hands?

Dining etiquette is observed in every country and different countries have different dining etiquettes based on their culture. Spoon and fork is widely used in many countries today, while chopsticks are used by Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other Asian countries. We can safely say that dining etiquette is a sign of good behavior and good behavior is dictated by society. Society dictates good behavior based on what are socially acceptable.


During the time when utensils have not yet invented our ancestors use their bare hands. In Muslim tradition, they practice eating with their bare hands in accordance with their religious belief; because in the time of Jesus utensils have not been invented. It’s interesting because nowadays only a few of us use our hands while eating.


Eating with bare hands is practiced in the Philippines. Some may think that it is weird and others say that it is primitive but for us Filipinos we consider it as part of our culture. It has been a tradition for Filipinos from the province eat with their bare hands. Most of these people are farmer or fisherman who spent a lot of time tending their crops or spending their time in the middle of the sea to catch fish. Since, these people are too busy they usually eat with their hands rather than bring utensils with them; until eating hand become their habit. In addition to that there people live in rural places (near the mountains or near the sea) are far from the main city so many of them don’t have time to buy spoon and fork, aside from the fact that they don’t enough money to buy these things.


I remembered a few years ago when my visited our province in Leyte; back then, my Grandfather was still alive. We always had our breakfast together and he would always eat with his bare hands. Actually, all of them were eating with their bare hands including my Grandmother, my Aunts, Uncles and my Mom and Dad. I would always complain and ask for a spoon and fork during mealtime. But my Lolo would tell me there’s none. My mom told me that they don’t have a spoon and folk because they consider it as a luxury and besides you can enjoy your food more when you eat with your bare hands. My mom also told me that even if they have those utensils they would not allow me to use it because it is a sign of disrespect for my relatives if I use those things.


It may sound funny, but based on my observations I noticed that there are a lot benefits in eating with your bare hands:

1.) When you eat with your bare hands you will be able to determine if the food is hot, in this way you would avoid being burned just in case the food is too hot.
2.) It is more convenient to eat because you can control how much food you intake.
3.) It is more appetizing to eat food using your hands (especially if you are eating rice with friend salted fish or rice with barbecue- Yum yum yum!).
4.) You can eat without worrying about cleaning the utensils after eating.
5.) You can eat everywhere without the hassle of bringing plates and utensils with you. Just bring a piece of banana leaf and your all set.

Finally, as a tip before eating with your bare hands; just make sure that your hands are clean and sanitized before eating. Also be sure that your nails are trimmed.

We often view people eating with their bare hands as a sign of poverty, but looking back at history we can clearly see that it is part of our culture. These things are part of us; part of who we really are. Eating with our bare hands showcases our attitude of being resourceful. Lastly, eating with your bare hands is finger licking good!

Going Bananas in the Phillipines

Quickie Cook tip:
• Remove the pilling of the ripe banana.
• Heat a cooking oil in a frying pan
• Cook/deep fry the banana until it will turn golden brown.
• Put an enough amount of brown sugar directly to the banana until the sugar melts.

It is popular because of its deliciousness and appetizing appearance. Lot of Filipino households cooked this goody for snack for its mouthwatering effect.
 Business wise, Banana cue can be sold in streets and is a one of our favorite snack. The banana cue stick serves as an ease for eating so you can easily grab a bite while on the rove which is beneficial for travelers. It is perfect for those people who are always on the go like students and workers who got hungry on their way to work but don’t have enough time to eat.

Necessity is the mother of invention! Filipinos never ran out ideas and since we want to add more variations to our banana cue we come up with an idea to deep fry wrapped bananas with a thin batter (lumpia wrapper) with caramelized sugar. This gave way to the birth of our snack called turon, our own version of banana crepe fried to perfection – only in the Philippines!

Banana Plantation in the Philippines is one of the fastest growing economic stakeholders. The velocity of the delivery is also the fucos in every plantation to avoid spoilage. The only thing that hinders the growth of the industry is typhoon that really ruins the banana industry. The largest banana plantation in the Philippines is DOLE in Davao del Norte that exports variety of banana and supply the Filipinos for a living.

Moreover, In the Philippines, Panabo City is the BANANA CAPITAL of the country. The city is known as the "Banana Capital of the Philippines" due to numerous banana plantations scattered throughout the city. In fact, Panabo is the home of the world’s biggest banana plantation, which is owned by the Tagum Agricultural Development Company (TADECO), which covers around 6,900 hectares of banana fields and produces millions of boxes of export-quality bananas annually. The city itself cultivated 40% of its land or around 10,000 hectares into planting export-quality bananas, which is better known as "Cavendish Bananas". Thus, banana cultivation and exportation are the main economic lifeblood of the city.

Truly, Banana is an extraordinary divine gift that became a part of Filipinos daily life, culture, food, and especially gave livelihood to its locals. I believe that as long as we Filipinos patronize this BANANA, Banana will exist.

KPOP Explosion at Republiq Bar, Resorts World.

Part of a recreational activity in my Company where I am currently working, is to administer an annual party for its employees. It is my first time to be present at the said annual party the so called “TRV Process Party”. In each year, there is a specific concept, and for this year 2013 it’s KPOP Culture. In Addition, the party was very well-prepared, from the food, programs, the location and all thingy that will surely superb for a yearly activity. Let me give you a heads up about the Party.

KPOP Explosion.

The theme of the party was based on the Korean Pop Genre. As per Wikipedia, K-pop (an abbreviation of Korean pop; is a musical genre originating in South Korea that is characterized by a wide variety of audiovisual elements. Although it comprises all genres of "popular music" within South Korea, the term is more often used in a narrower sense to describe a modern form of South Korean pop music covering mostly dance-pop, pop ballad, electronic, rock, hip-hop, R&B, etc.

Advertisement by Google: On the same fashion, we are also required to wear a Kpop Inspired get up, which is a challenge for me because I am not an aficionado of KPOP Music. Choosing the hairstyle and the colors, the mash up of the dresses to become a KPOP looks, etc. are the huge challenge for me. Fortunately, by the help of my friends, I was able to survive it. LOL!

What about Republiq?

Republic is a sophisticated club in the Philippines; According to “Manilla Clubbing” it is the top one night club in Manilla. It is perfect hotspot for the hip elite party crowd, party girls and celebrities. The Club is open to the public 3 times week only, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The entire design is best described as a Las Vegas style night club. Inside, a number of VIP tables that are usually suffused with innumerable bottles and champagne.

Lights and Music 

In addition, the Lights are great; truly fit the color of the surroundings. It will also technologically change as the music start to play. The rapid changes of the colors and effects are perfectly in accordance to the music’s beat and momentum. The Music is very well chosen by the DJ, named Ace Ramos. The music is played by skilled DJ that plays just like the DJs in the big clubs Vegas and Miami.
Moreover, Republiq host various special events with international DJs and super stars, such as Far East Movement, LMFAO, Lil John, Chris Garcia, Tall Sasha as well popular US nightclub DJs. They usually also hosts the official after-parties for big concerts.

How to get there?

The club is located at the Second Level of Newport Mall, which is part of Resorts World Manila (Newport City in Pasay) and it is adjacent of Remington Hotel. It’s very easy to get there from Makati and BGC. To make it simple, it is right infront of Ninoy Aquino International Airport 3 (NAIA 3).

A Party is incomplete without food. Catering is also offered in Republiq if you’re gonna rent the whole place for private party. Since, “TRV Process Party” is a private one food is available. So let me give you my review towards the medicine of my gastronomical craving the so called FOOOODS. Let’s start with the appetizer “Mushroom and quail Soup”,it was very pectinate and thick,  so I didn’t like it, yet the taste was amazing . Next plate is the main course; the Java Rice is just an ordinary taste for me. Actually, I preferred plain rice compared to fried rice or JAVA Rice, Plain rice is more appetizing for me. The Dishes were very savor, the steamed beef was very juicy and tender, the fried chicken was well cooked, and the pasta was very Italian taste. Coming up next is the plate with Salad, there were three dressing available and I choose the Caesar dressing. The lettuce were very fresh that results to the crispiness, the red and green lettuce were carefully chopped and enough to be placed in one plate. The bread, sweet yellow corn, crashed carrots and etc, were high quality ingredients for the salad. Next was the desert, the tiny sliced Dark Chocolate Cake and a Red Velvet were very sweet, enough to finish the entire meal.

Iced Tea and Soft drinks are for free during the “TRV Process party” but on a regular day you have to pay for that at the BAR. More to that, cocktail drinks are also available where in you need to pay it separately and right away.

The Employees.

The receptionists are nice however they are very strict when it comes on checking your ID. The Waiters are very attentive towards guest request, they always observing its table dirt and waste and clean it right away. An empty plates and glasses on your table are their target all night long. The Bouncer and guard are always looking the entire vicinity to secure the whole place. They will remind the guests not to put their feet on the table and not to dance at the gutter when drunk.

The registration started exactly at 8PM. Then the food were ready for serving, as soon as everybody were finished the heavy dinner, the program proper started with the catwalk of the KPOP fashion contestants (male and female), followed by the intermission number of the KPOP dance with TRV Dancers, and then the question and answer portion continued. Another intermission number from the managerial level for the second segment of the program and followed by announcing the winners. Lastly, gadgets were given away during the raffle, the mob of TRV employees enjoyed drinking and clubbing all night long till 3AM.

The Policy

Republiq has a strict door policy. If you don’t follow the dress-code or are to young, you won’t get in, no matter how much you spend or book a table. Always dress up nicely and make sure to bring a valid ID, no matter how old you are. If you fail to comply with the dresscode or age limit you will simply not get in.
You have to be at least 18 years old to be admitted to Republiq and this rule is strictly followed. If you are not 18 you won’t get it. If you don’t bring an ID they will not let you in! Always bring a valid ID, even if you are on the guestlist or have booked a table.

Republiq has a strict dress code. Males have to wear a collar! Always dress up nicely (dress to impress). Girls can dress up sexy or stylish and guys should wear a shirt, jacket or polo shirt (it needs to have a collar or you won’t get in). Jeans & sneakers will be allowed upon our discretion.

General dresscode guidlines:

Gentlemen: No slippers/sandals/crocs, no round/vneck shirts, no caps, no shorts.
Recommended: dress shoes, (polo) shirts, jacket/coat. If they’ll wear a shirt, must have a coat/jacket.
Ladies: No slippers/crocs/sandals. Flat sandals, need at least straps at the back.
The following are absolutely not allowed in any case:
- Baggy, loose-fitting or sloppy clothing
- Athletic wear & sports jerseys
- Ball caps, bandanas &/or similar
- T-shirts, sleeveless shirts & tanktops (for en)
- Shorts & cropped pants (for men)
- Slippers (For men & women)
- Sandals & open shoes (For men)

The door policy is strict. If you have any problem with the dresscode or forgot your ID remember to NEVER argue with the bouncers. This is the worst you can do. Try to find a solution (borrow something from a friend, buy something at Lacoste downstairs or go home and change). There is no point in arguing with the door crew. Once they denied you they will not change their mind, no matter what you try. If you start arguing you most likely won’t get in even if you do get your ID or change to proper clothes, so the best is to just leave and get your ID or change to proper clothes.

Obviously no illegal substances and weapons are allowed and no violent behavior is tolerated.
At certain times it can get very busy at the entrance which sometimes results in big lines. Always be patient, you will get in, but remember that VIPs, regulars and paying customers always go before people that are on the guestlist, so sometimes you might have to wait long. Don’t get angry or let it spoil your night. It’s worth the wait!

 If your answer is yes, then I would recommend that you visit an Amazing resort here in Binangonan. Villa de Castro Garden & Resort is 30 to 45 minutes away from Star Mall (Ortigas Avenue). From Star Mall terminal you can ride a Jeep with a signboard (Cardona or Tanay) for 45 pesos and you also have an option to ride a Van for 50 pesos. The resort is just along Manila East Road in Barangay Palangoy, Binangonan. The travel time is fast, perfect for those people who want to get a vacation that is near the Metro and at the same time don’t want to feel exhausted during travel.


Villa de Castro offers a wide range of activities that you can choose to. The resort has two swimming pools, a dining area. It has three cottages located at the middle of the lake .There are also rooms for rent available if you want to stay in the resort overnight. Inside the resort there is a store where you can buy snacks, beer, drinks and other stuff. You can also rent cooking and even kitchen utensils if in case you forgot to bring them.

The entrance fee is 120 pesos which is negotiable if you are gonna book as a group. The rent for each cottage is 500 pesos overnight. . You can also rent a Videoke in your cottage for a very affordable cost (250PHP) overnight. The Grilling station is for free, you just need to bring your own charcoal. If you are in tight budget, much better if you’re going to buy foods and drinks outside, since wet market is just nearby.

The place is good and the employees are warm and friendly.  I noticed the swimming pools, they are a bit smaller but it is clean and the water is clear. We headed for our cottage and it was great! Imagine a cottage build in the middle of the lake. Isn’t that wonderful? We rented a Videoke since a lot of us love to sing and started the party that last until morning. Overall, the Party was great and everyone had fun. We dawn we also took a glimpse of the majestic beauty of this place.

Whether you are with your family taking a vacation or with your workmates looking for some fun and adventure this place is for you. After a long week of work we escape from our hectic schedules to a place where we can enjoy spending time with our loved ones peacefully away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The White House of the Philippines is located in Tanay Rizal

Today is a second day of my Rizal Travel, together with my teammates we decided to hire a tricycle for the entire 2nd day of Roving. The Whole Trip is from Morong Rizal up to JalaJala, Rizal. Next Municipality after Baras is Tanay. Actually, Tanay is not new to me since I used to work in one of a Banks located in Tanay Town proper for almost three months right after Graduation. However, Working for three months in Tanay doesn’t bring me enough knowledge about the hidden exquisiteness and awareness of Tanay’s Beauty. Therefore, this Travel is almost new, as new as I haven’t yet work in Tanay. So, the ecstasy of the total excitement is still there.

Tanay, Rizal is located 57 kilometres (35 mi) east of Manila. A normal commuter’s travel time from Manila to Tanay will take between one to three hours depending upon traffic conditions. If you came from the Metropolis, I advised you to go ahead at Shaw Blvd infront of Star Mall Edsa. The Terminal of FX and Jeppneys are located there, PHP 75.00 for the Air-conditioned FX and 65PHP for Jeepney.

Just a heads up, Tanay contains portions of the Sierra Madre Mountains and is bordered by Antipolo City in the northwest, Baras, Morong and Teresa in the west, General Nakar (Quezon Province) in the east, and Pililla, Santa Maria (Laguna province) as well as the lake Laguna de Bay in the south.

|Meanwhile, the mission of the Municipal Government of Tanay is to improve the socio-economic condition of its population through sustainable development and responsive management of its resources in active partnership with all concerned sectors. Well, the development that they mentioned really reflects on the noble Municipal hall that they build. When I personally saw the newly built/renovated Municipal hall, all I can say is, it looks like the Washington White House. It was visually great due to the white and newly painted architecture. Though it is a smaller version of the White House but still I will stand my opinion that it is the white house of the Philippines. It was really a huge transition compared when I was working in Tanay.
Aside from falls, caves, resorts, and more tourist spots in Tanay, I believe that their municipal hall can be also considered as part of Hikers and Traveller’s itinerary who wants to visit the place. The landscaping in front of the hall is much picturesque, the ornamental plants are very pleasant and the plaza is huge perfect for jogging with your dog.
