Easy Sinangag Recipe

Let’s get cooking! Sinangag (fried rice) is a classic Filipino dish that makes use of leftover rice and pantry staples.

Ingredients:

• 3 cups leftover rice (preferably a day old)
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons cooking oil
• 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional)
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Optional add-ons: diced vegetables, eggs, leftover meat, or canned tuna

Instructions:

1. Prep the Rice: Break up clumps of leftover rice with a fork to make frying easier.
2. Heat the Oil: In a large pan or wok, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until golden brown and fragrant.

🎥 Filipino Foods - Boiled Swamp Cabbage or River Spinach (aka Kangkong) with Ginamos.

 I will be sharing with you my simple way of cooking the so-called kangkong. Kangkong is a semi-aquatic tropical plant that’s a popular vegetable in the Philippines.

The word kangkong has been translated into English as swamp cabbage or river spinach, but those names don’t reflect what kangkong really is except for the fact that it grows where there’s a lot of water. It has also been called “swamp morning glory” because of its flowers.

It has also been called “swamp morning glory” because of its flowers. The tender hollow stems of Kangkong (tangkong in Visayan) are used in cooking as well as its leaves.  It can be stir-fried, steamed, boiled or lightly fried in oil.

But for now, let us just boil it as quick as possible.



Boiled Kangkong is tasteless if there is no sauce partnered with it. I am using Ginamos (Visayan) or in Filipino, Bagoong. Ginamos is a salted and fermented small fish called solid. It some, it might smell bad but for me, this is something that will make your cooking elevated. Just put chopped tomatoes and onion in a bowl of Ginamos.

Kangkong with Bagoong is truly a Pinoy dish and perfect with rice.

First Package that I got was from Telesin Ph Official Store.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector for GoPro Hero 5, Hero 6 and Hero 7 Action Camera. It is amounting to ₱259.00 which includes – (a) 1 wet wipe, (b) 1 dry wipe, (c) 1 vial of oil cleaner, (d) stickers, and (e) tempered glasses for monitor and for the lens. I do the job of putting the tempered glass and cleaning my GoPro since those are just self-explanatory. I must say that I love the product. I got it in good condition and it was packed safely.

Charging Kit 3-Channel Desktop Charger + 2 Rechargeable Batteries. It is amounting to ₱999.00 which includes – The Charging Dock that can charge three batteries at the same time; two 1220mah Rechargeable Batteries for GoPro Hero 5, GoPro Hero 6, GoPro Hero 7 Action Camera; and  MicroUSB Cable. I haven’t used it yet to its full potential but according to my co-vlogger that Telesin Batteries are reliable third-party accessories for action cameras. Rechargeable 1220mAh Power Battery for GoPro Hero 5, GoPro Hero 6, GoPro Hero 7 Action Camera. It is amounting to ₱559.00. I must admit that I am hoarding extra batteries for GoPro Hero 6 since I hate not being able to capture the moment because of a drained battery. 1220mAh is not really enough especially if you do travel vlog. And so I decided to buy one, aside from the two that I got from the Charging Kit 3-Channel Package. I just hope that this will last since ₱559.00 is not a joke. Again, I haven’t used it yet to the full capacity but I am hopeful Telesin won’t disappoint me in this.


Elastic Harness Head Strap for Action Camera and it is amounting to ₱239.00 – I just bought this, assuming that this accessory might help me recording my point of view for a vlog. It is elastic, durable and so it fits easily to my head however when I tried to wear it and look myself at the mirror – it seems awkward-looking as I have long hair. But I will surely use this in my future travels and adventures.

And lastly, the next package is from Moeder Home International Corp. I bought Baron BRL Digital Antenna which is amounting to ₱799.00 plus ₱50 for the shipping fee. The Baron BRL Digital Antenna is a specially designed digital TV antenna for indoor and outdoor use. It will enhance the reception of Digital Signal for better and clearer reception. The BRL is beneficial for areas wherein digital signals are weak and prone to dead spots. This antenna is ideal for and bundling with Digital Set-Top Boxes and DTV Ready Television Sets.

WATCH VLOG FROM GADGET ADDICT:

Since my TV is Digital-ready, I didn’t bother buying the ABS-CBN TV box anymore. I scanned the channel and I got 42 Channels ( 2 analog and 40 Digital), ABSCBN and GMA7 are both clear but all of the channels that are being scanned and featured in ABS-CBN TV Box are all encrypted. This means that it is not accessible unless you are using the ABS-CBN TV Box.  I must say that this antenna is perfectly partnered with the ABS-CBN TV Box but for now, I won’t purchase it since I already have my EVPAD 3s – an internet streaming box for all major channels.

I actually just buy this product to satisfy my curiosity – if my TV is really working with an indoor antenna and can broadcast digital channels. After getting the answer, I think I am not really getting the value of the product since ABS-CBN and GMA7 are just two major channels that I might watch in the future.

On October 19,2019 I went to Healthyway Shangrila to have a checkup. I experienced four-day constipation and I started to have a fever. I had a hard time removing my waste from inside of my digestive system and when I forced myself to do it - my rectal part started to swell and it has an indescribable embossed skin which is painful. It was totally uncomfortable when I rode a motorcycle heading to my work, sitting 8 hours in the office and it lasted for a week. 



Until I decided to visit a doctor, I was diagnosed with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the lowest part of your rectum and anus. Sometimes the walls of these blood vessels stretch so thin that the veins bulge and get irritated, especially when you poop. The Doctor also pressed my tummy and since I felt pain, I was advised to have a urinalysis – a test of my urine and diagnosed of having an infection.  The Doctor prescribed me an anti-biotic medicine- Cefuroxime Axetil 500mg brand name Trigenna, twice a day for seven days. In addition, I also took Diosmin/Hesperidin the same dosage and timeframe for my hemorrhoids. And the last one is the Lactulose brand name Lilac – for my constipation.




 I started to take the Trigenna and Diosmin right after I arrived at my condo. I didn’t take the Lilac and decided to take it Monday, October 21, 2019, at 3PM, after that I went to bed since I need to go to work the next four hours. When I woke up – I was having a hard time to breathe and since I need to go to work, I force myself to take a bath and rode a motorcycle (with taga-hatid sundo ko). I was okay until when we reached somewhere in JP Rizal Avenue heading to BGC, I had rapid and extreme dizziness which was totally risky as I was riding a vehicle. I asked the driver to stop and I was vomiting, I asked him to bring me to the nearest hospital – St. Lukes, but when we were on my way after I threw up, my state of balance became stable and I just asked Manong to just drive me to work.

I promised to Manong that I can manage myself, and when I arrived at work at 8PM, I was shocked seeing my two hands swelling and I noticed my shoes became tighter. I knew there is something wrong inside me but since I didn’t feel any pain except for my swollen hands and feet. I still manage myself performing my work until I asked my manager that I need to go the emergency care after seeing my hands having a blister and the swelling started to go continuously ion my two arms. I was then having a hard time moving my fingers. I knew deep inside that one of the three medicines that I took gave me this allergy but I don’t know which of the three.

I ran myself to the hospital at 2AM – and diagnosed with Severe Allergy and Urticaria. Urticaria, also known as hives, is an outbreak of swollen, pale red bumps or plaques (wheals) on the skin that appear suddenly -- either as a result of the body's reaction to certain allergens or for unknown reasons. Hives usually cause itching, but may also burn or sting.

The Doctor at the Emergency Care told me that the allergy was a dangerous and a good thing I brought myself to the Hospital. They administered me an antihistamine and anti-inflammation. I slept due to the side effect of the medicine and woke up at 5AM. I was advised to go home and just stop all the medicine that I was taking. I just said, “Yes, I will”.




I didn’t adhere to the Doctor’s advice as I need to heal my infection and hemorrhoid by continuously taking the prescribed medicine by the first Doctor that I’ve visited on October 19 at Shangri-La.  Based on my gut feeling, I knew that the most recent medicine that I took gave me the allergy which is the Lilac. I still took the medicine for my UTI and Hemorrhoid, and I stopped the medicine for my constipation. Luckily, I was right; I got the best combination and remove the Lilac.

After one week, I went back to Shangri-La- for the follow-up, I had another urinalysis and found out the puss count in my urine still have the same count from my first urinalysis even if I took adhered the medicine. The Doctor then advised me to have an ultrasound because that usually happened if a patient has a kidney stone. Fortunately, I was negative. And so, the Doctor just told me to increase my water intake and will do a follow up next week.





On November 24, 2019, I went to LoveYourself to have undergone an HIV, Syphilis and Hepa B test – which I do regularly. It turned into Non-Reactive.

Today, I started to eat zero meat meals and took at least 8 glasses of water every day. Let see the urinalysis next week –what will be the result. In addition, I already change my diet recently.

Good Side:

3. The 5000mah, I tried to test if it is really an accurate capacity inline with what they advertised. It is true, I was able to charge twice my phone.

Bad

1. After a month of usage, it started to show the scratches and it became cheaper when it comes to aesthetics.
2. If you connect the USB to your PC or any devices - it won't read and you need to remove the battery case. This is cumbersome in my end especially if I have to transfer my videos to my PC to edit my vlogs. In addition, if you keep removing the case, it will just result in damage - both phone and the case which I personally experience.
3. There no specific brand, it is a generic product.

FINAL THOUGHT:

I didn't regret buying this product, aside from the issue about the ease of use when transferring the files to my PC, everything is fine, the price that I paid is worth for the service that I got. Until now, I am still using it.
