Despite of Typhoon“ Maring” Filipinos are still Smiling.

Devastating Situation, innumerable casualties, millions of properties were damaged, so on and so forth. Those are scenarios that usually we can notice in our surroundings if Typhoon exists. In addition to that, floods in metro, not just an ordinary flood, but a flood that will totally ruin the Filipinos’ hope.

Philippines is surrounded by many oceans, basically it is facing in Pacific Ocean wherein Typhoon are usually started. Therefore, Philippines is a country that can be easily hit. It is given, so Filipinos are expecting that phenomenon annually.

Actually, part of being a Filipino is to experience the heavy rain, strong wind, and a flood that will enter in every house.

But despite of the typhoon, let me give you some reasons why Filipinos are still smiling during this phenomenon.


Families are smiling.
1.      Because of the heavy rain, Filipinos can’t go outside. Therefore every members of the family can have a chance to bond each other. They are enjoying their hot lugaw, or mami in a dinner, and they simultaneously watching the news and they will have a chance to talk about their life which is not the normal habit due to their busy individuals’ life.

2.      Bayanihan, Pronounced like "buy-uh-nee-hun," bayanihan is a Filipino word derived from the word bayan meaning town, nation, or community in general. "Bayanihan" literally means, "being a bayan," and is thus used to refer to a spirit of communal unity and cooperation. In time of crisis like typhoon, the spirit if bayanihan arises and that’s the reason that we are proud as a Filipino. Being a selfless is innate from within and we tend to help others without expecting in returns.

3.      Being Creative, Remember the saying that “need is a mother of all invention”. Filipinos creativity exists when need is arises. Filipinos are smart and we can easily create new things from out of nothing that can play a huge role during typhoon.

The Second Day of Typhoon Maring while I’m walking in the middle of the flood at EDSA-Taft Rotonda. I noticed few boys were doing a small bridge so that the people can easily pass with a certain amount. By that, they used the catastrophic flood as a source of income. Very smart Right?

Moreover, I was also surprised when I received an EMAIL from my friend with an image attachment. Men in a boat made up of empty bottles. Great Idea!

Environment is smiling
4.       Cleansing the Philippines: Many pessimists are complaining why flood exists. Positively speaking I answered “Just think of it positively, maybe your house is too dirty and that will be the time that you can clean it. Imagine, without flood, you don’t even have time to clean your house. Same thing outside in your house, without flood government will not get a chance to find ways of solving it. There are reasons why flood exist, so don’t think negatives because with or without typhoon, it’s all the same. Life is risky with or without typhoon.” Our environment becomes clean.

5.      Employees are highly priority; companies are offering free accommodation to their employees, they also offering calamity loans, financial assistance, and free food subsidy during work for a specific span of time.  Employees can take advantage of that.

Undeniably, Calamity is just a calamity, it is already given, it is natural, and it is the call of our nature. But the question is, are we allowing ourselves to suffer it or we can prepare it so that when time come, we can take it as an opportunity to smile...

To All the victims of Typhoon Maring, let me leave you this,

“Hindi kasalanan ang maging Biktima ng Baha, pero paghinayaan mo ang sarili mong maging Biktima yan ang malaking kasalanan”

Don’t be part of those victims, yet be part of those Filipinos who are smiling and proudly saying, it’s more fun in the Philippines

Amazing Art of Rock Balancing in Tanay, Rizal

Are you familiar with that? What about “Rock Balancing”? Have you heard about it? Sounds interesting right?  Maybe you’ve tried balancing different stuffs but balancing a heavy and with various sizes and forms rocks, well it’s an extraordinary skills. The art of rock balancing is not an easy-breezy thing to perform considering that rocks are the most irregularly-shaped pieces on earth

In Tanay Rizal, just 57 kilometers east of Manila, 1 hour and 30 minutes’ drive, Rock balancing exists and it’s a popular.
As per Wiki: Rock balancing is an art, discipline, or hobby (depending upon the intent of the practitioner) in which rocks are balanced on top of one another in various positions. There are no tricks involved to aid in the balancing, such as adhesives, wires, supports, or rings.

In the Philippines, Rock Balancing was founded in September 2010.  There were two proponents who popularized, organized and introduced this form of Art in Tanay, named Leandro Tamayo Inocencio and Ildefonso Bandoma Vista. These two names are advocates for greener and cleaner environment. The very reason why they introduced this art is not only performing or exhibiting it, yet to persuade the locals to support their project named “The Journey for The Trees” This Project tends to give awareness and promoting environmental awareness and life conservation through conducting such exhibition of Rock Balancing.

It was a success, a tree planting activities, lectures for environmental awareness, rock balancing and more in connivance with  Municipality of Tanay, The Billion Tree Campaign,  United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP), ), and the 350.org's 10-10-10 Global Work Party, and innumerable  sponsors and volunteers.

“Masaya ang Rock Balancing at sobrang amdaming tao talaga ang nagpupunta dito sa Tanay(The Rock Balancing event is very festive and lots of visitors are witnessing it)” the police in Daranak Falls said. The Event is annually conducted in Tanay Town Proper from then, but some of the masterpieces are available right in Daranak Falls. “It’s originally from US, and they brought it here” he added.

Truly, witnessing the masterpieces really admired me and motivated me to try. I tried one but that was really hard, first you have to choose the right shape of the rocks from the river. You have to balance it according to the center of the gravity. It really measures your patience and creativity.

Moreover, experiencing it personally was a great remembrance. I realized that even a worthless rock can also turned into a value-laden form of art. An Art that can change the world to make greener and cleaner, An Art that can increase the tourism in Tanay Rizal, An art that can teach you how to become patient.

A one in a million among other venues for lodging, even though it is not as massive as compared to most of the extravagant and popularly known five star hotels in the urban definitely bestowed us the quietude against the academe-scoped routines. Through the unconditional love of my Pillar Publication family I was invited to end my Rizal Challenge Travel in Thunderbird Resorts Hotel. The said Invitation rose because I have to talk the newbies of the Publication on their Seminar as a guest speaker

At first glance, it couldn’t be imagined that the hilly innermost edge of Binangonan there exists a magnanimous place where families even VIPs bond themselves with their next of kin and carry out team-building activities while freeing from strain. One could not resist the tamed atmosphere in addition with the brilliant sceneries of resembling tranquility.

Thunderbird Resort Hotel, Such site of lodge is considered as one of the best retreat itineraries not just in Binagonan but also in other neighbor metropolis.

In spite of half whirling road along the seemingly ticklish way through the exact location of the Hotel, the overlooking view ahead envisaged the uplifting sentiments at hand. Cluster of lights all over the town sparked the merriment as our wheels smoothly roll towards the thoroughfare. And as I go further, my soul feels astray with what my eyes conceive and the excitement what lies ahead.

Finally, as I set forth with the domain of thunderbird, a horde of eye-gleaming views parade in my sight. Approaching in front of me was the elegant main entrance where the entire panorama of the hotel can be seen. Across it lies the extensive golf course with the evenly trimmed grasses and the petty pond. Undeniably, the roster of luxurious to the simplest car proved that the hotel is really s sought spot for the nature dwellers.

At the very moment we entered the lobby, the relative hospitality of the employees there made us feel overwhelmed. Fostering such fair treatment with their guests engenders a feeling at ease.


A few steps away from the entrance and lobby are the wide array of walled-in units of lodge occupying two-storey concrete structure. Rooms inspired by classic style of designs hone peace and harmony. Its four corners face solemn ambiance and silhouettes laxative.

The Garden

Meanwhile, the clear bluish water of the swimming pool can spotted just beside the terrace of the foyer. Adjacent to it is the alluring Jacuzzi where a circle of guests love to lean around and mingle with their companions. Of course, I also managed to flatter our very own arms and legs win the chlorine-less pool together with or fellows.

On the other hand, who can forget the unlimited Wi-Fi galore! The boundless access in Facebook, Twitter and mostly to comment the Post of my Fellow Bloggers, Chatting online with missed bodies and at the same time watching YouTube will complete your entire day .Undoubtedly, surfing the net is best experience with laptop just in front.

After a tiresome yet pleasurable exploring, I savored the palatable set of cuisines offered to us. Though each plate should be shared by two heads, our munching session still found its own way to satisfy my own cravings. The presence of sharing was exhibited on all sides of the seats

At the end of the sumptuous stay, one thing emerged in our mindset. Contentment in life is not just being a materialistic in life and having deluxe obsession. Acquisitiveness should not be taken as prerequisite to fulfill life. I’ll just realize that having a chance to experience such luxurious ending of travel is a great blissful remembrance for a lifetime aside from giving a motivation to the young writers.
